Default Moon Hoax poll from Russia (2000)

I apologize if this one has published b4, but it is the first Russian poll, I have read on the Moon Hoax issue:

LINK

21.04.2000, Petrova A.

HAVE AMERICANS BEEN ON THE MOON?

It has been over 30 years since a human being set foot on the moon. However, as a recent poll showed, not all Russians are familiar with the event: 16% of respondents have never heard of American astronauts landing on the moon in the Summer of 1969.

There is a hypothesis according to which the landing was staged. What do Russians think about this hypothesis? When asked whether respondents believe that American astronauts have been to the moon, one-half of them (51%) answered positively, over one-quarter (28%) – negatively, and 22% were undecided.

Residents of Moscow and St. Petersburg, and people with higher education (62% and 62%, respectively) most often believe that American astronauts landed on the moon, while the share of skeptics is equal in all social-demographic groups.

We would add that the level of distrust in the reality of the moon landing increases with a decrease in information about the event. Among those familiar with the event, 23% do not believe that Americans landed on the moon, while among those who do not know about it, the number is 41%.

The Public Opinion Foundation. Russia-wide poll of urban and rural populations. April 1, 2000. 1500 respondents. "

Interesting. They say the more familiar someone is with Apollo, the less likely they are to believe the landings were faked. I would guess that some of those people who say they know more about it got their info from HBs. So it's likely to me that the more we educate people about how Apollo really worked, the less likely they will fall prey to the likes of Sibrel.

If you want to see the raw data for the poll, check this one out:

Itīs interesting to see that among the group with "higher education", the "votes" are like this:

62 % believe in the landings and only 21 % donīt.

(In the group with "primary education", only 38 % believe in the landings)

56 % of the men believe in the landings vs. "only" 46 % of the women.

Naturally. Ignorances begets ignorance. In other words, if you're stupid, you'll believe in stupid things.
