When you go there, among other garbage, you see:

Looks like some Vietnamese person living in the Czech Republic hacked it.

Yep, the hazards of not keeping your board software current. Unfortunately only John Witts has administrative access, so we'll have to wait until he gets around to looking at it.

Yep, something has happened to it. I'm surprised it lasted this long. Whoever has done this has also deleted both my Admin username and also my original username, so it must be someone who knows the site and not some random hack for mischief. I've had a look at the site using Cute FTP, but it may as well be in Japanese as far as I'm concerned.

If someone else wants to take a look to see if they can sort the mess out, PM me and I'll let you know the ID and passwords necessary to access the site.

I'm sorry I can't do more, but I'm a bit of a dumb a** when it comes to this sort of thing. Maybe, if we do get it up and running again, we should spread the load a bit more to keep the forum going.

Jay is missing, but not Clavius. DaveC is also missing cos he emailed me about it earlier. If you go to the site and hit memberlist, you can check if you're still there.

I managed to make a post, look:

http://www.apollohoax.com/forums/vie...forum=12&0

If you go into the memberlist and access a list of posts from some poster. You can navigate to the general discussion sub-forum and post.

I managed to re sign up as Admin and post in the Chosen Few, which is not so 'Chosen' now. It won't let me into the Administration Page, so I can't change anything.

How do we fix it? Any offers?

Well, I suppose we could re-hack it. I have no idea how, but...

Edit: Could you just reload the software? You have ftp access, right?

Edit #2: Here's how to get admin status back:

http://www.phpbb.com/kb/article.php?article_id=71

The second option looks like it might work.

It could work, if I knew what it meant. Remember, I didn't set this up, so I don't know where anything is, or even who hosts the site. I've been waiting for a while for the site to go banzai. In fact, it lasted longer than I thought.

Well, you could try e-mailing the hacker. Probably won't work, but it's worth a shot.

Also, you might want to consider setting up somewhere else in case it goes down for good. Not quite sure how to do this, but it can't be too hard.

Well, it's kind of fun to figure out how to use it. I reregistered with my previous name and password and was able to post something. Even though it says I only have one posting, my others seem to be still be there. Maybe that's a bit of a clue on what's happened to it. John, if you can fix it that would be great, but those among us who are committed, (or should be) will continue to work around the problem. I wish I could help, but I'm sure I know less than you.

The easiest way to navigate is to bookmark the various fora.

Banzai means "1000 years old". So you hoped it would last that long? ;-)

It's also a rather bad TV programme in the UK, where you can bet on silly things with your friends.

OK everyone, I suggest we all use Yahoo Messenger to flood hack_love_forum with requests to undo the damage.

Also;

You can email at

hack_love_forum@yahoo.com

And leave a note in his guestbook at

http://www.security2004.wz.cz/guestbook.htm

I hope this is the person responsible, because I can see us making his life a misery. If it is, then all I can say is GOOD!
