Default Benefit of the short lived program

Perhaps the benefit of the cutoff of the era of cool in '75 is that because it was short and sweet, we remember it in exquisite detail. If it had gone on as it should have, we probably wouldn't think too much of the first Apollo missions. But, because it died quickly, we have ALSJ ands things so we can enjoy the missions forever and full and complete flights and not just as vague shadows.

Much as I enjoy perusing the ALSJ, I'd be willing to trade it in for a space program that continued on and built from Project Apollo.

I'm not sure that just because Apollo would have represented the beginnings of the hypothetical ongoing space program, that it would have been forgotten.

An analogy: there are still quite a number of people interested in artists like Elvis, Buddy Holly, and Chuck Berry, even though they represent just the beginnings of the rock era.

If the Apollo program had continued, and NASA had built on its successes the way it should. I believe that HBers would be few, far between and so wacked out that even Fox wouldn't pay attention to them.

Sure,

if the Apollo programme had continued, there would be no HB'ers. Perhaps, even the billions of Pounds/dolars would be a small price to pay to have been rid of this nonsense?

Actually, let me contradict myself here, I find most of the HB'ers a bit silly, they give me a good laugh.
