Please forgive me, with my last post. I tend to be the captain of the 'U.S.S. Sarcasm'. It's a fine and sturdy ship. The whole 'Moonlanding hoax' theory is on the outer reaches of my sarcastic universe. What could the Government possibly gain from faking it? Is it just 'bragging rights'? That's a lot of money and lives spent just for bragging rights. Also, If John Q. Citizen is aware of a hoax involving any of the Moon landings. Wouldn't Russia and other countries, be aware of it too? If the hoax theory were true then they would have the chance to be the first humans on the Moon. Besides, and this is a monumental 'Besides', as bad as the government is at planning things. 'Faking' any Moon landing would be way beyond their capabilities. Especially ALL of the landings. I'm not trying to be funny but if the government could pull off that many hoaxes. They should be applauded and given an award for the most realistic movie drama ever made. =D>
P.S.---Just think if we knew the truth about everything. What kind of fun would that be?

You know the infamous Fox special? That was the first I had ever heard of the Moon Hoax. It's not a product of my generation, and I don't really know how deeply it's managed to penetrate my generation. Based on my personal experience, John Q. Nonamerican probably either doesn't know too much about this whole mess, or simply doesn't care. And let's face it, there's nothing we non-Americans enjoy more than to see the US government caught in some sort of scam. If we're not laughing about it, it's probably a non-issue.

The first I knew that anyone doubted the moon landings was from the woman who cleaned our house back when I was a kid. She was convinced that the landings were fake because her pastor told her so.
The next time I heard of anyone doubting that the landings were real was when I read an obscure book called Bad Astromony by a guy named Phillip Plait. The book and this website have been a breath of fresh air in an increasingly polluted informational world. (OK, so metaphors aren't my strong suit.)

I was really into the paranormal stuff once as well. I really enjoyed Sightings when it first came out, when I was about 10. But then I got some critical thinking.

growing up in Europe and having seen the 1969 moon landing live on tv, i only learned that there are people thinking they were faked about 5 years ago. at first i laughed about it, but then i got concerned about the way people's minds work: some of the weirdest stuff is taken for granted and at face value, while something as significant and obvious as the landings on the moon are treated with suspicion and disbelief. i didn't understand it, still don't.
it did cause me to find this website when i was trying to find out more about it, though... \ /

I also grew up in Europe, and remember the 1969 landing. I think I first heard about the hoax belivers 10-12 years ago, I still have trouble understanding how anyone can seriously doubt it.
