One last question: Does anyone know of an authority on the moon landings who I could email to perhaps request an email interview, because apparently this sort of "primary" source is usually a helpful addition to the research thesis, and I am not exactly familiar with personnel in the Apollo program.

You might want to look at the JSC Oral Histories project site. It is a bunch of interviews of various NASA personal and astronauts.

The ones by John Brinkman and Richard Underwood are good. They cover the photography part of the Apollo missions.

I partically like the one by Dick Underwood. He goes in great detail on photographing things from space and all the factors that go into taking a good photograph, like lighting, lens settings, etc. Non-technical too. There is a great section on how he got in trouble with the DOD for telling the press that some of the shuttle photos showed that the Russians were violating the SALT treaties. So here's a guy that would have a beef with the government and could have revealed a hoax, but didn't. Basically, anything the hoaxers have said about the photograph and camera is refuted here.

Dick Gordon, Apollo 12, has a website. Maybe you can get in touch with him here. BTW, I could only get his site to open using Netscape. I've met Dick Gordon several times and he laughs at the hoax idea, but he's very friendly and I'd bet might spend a little time emailing you.
