Default Does anyone here ever heard about that?

In 2000, the International Astronautic Congress was in Rio de Janeiro. There, a Brazilian film maker (who also sells books and movies about conspiration theories) got an interview with Daniel Goldin and lauched the old question about "how the film resisted the temperature".

It seems Goldin answered he didn´t knew, so the factoid is shown as a trophy of conspiracists here in Brazil.

Do you ever heard about that outside Brazil?

I see two possibilities.

Either
a) Daniel Goldin did (does) not know the details of how the film would behave during the Apollo missions

or

b) the information is being misrepresented to us.

Both are possible.

a) Goldin was NASA administrator in 1992, so expecting him to understand and remember specific details about how missions were accomplished in the late 60's and early 70's seems a bit silly. The work I do for my company is very important, but I wouldn't expect my Head of Research (5 levels above me) to know the details of my job.

b) Moon Hoax proponents in the US have been shown to be unethical. Therefore it is possible that Moon Hoax proponents in other countries are also unthical. Therefore, the Daniel Goldin incident may or may not have happened as described. We would need independent source(s) to be sure that this occurred and that information is not being taken out of context. Do you have any independant sources?

Why would Goldin be expected to know?

I thought the same thing...

But I think everyone knows the HB answer: because he was NASA boss.

If the boss knew all the details, what's the point of having the rest of the organization?
