Virtual LM book
Maybe a bit OT...
My copy of Scott Sullivan's Virtual LM came in today. The predecessor, Virtual Apollo, was a fine book. I gave it four stars, with some reservations.
But in comparison, Virtual LM is superb. =D> It's just incredibly detailed; there must be at least 600 illustrations in total. And nothing seems to be simplified this time around. There are detailed, annotated, models of the PLSS, MESA, and ALSEP. Small details like wiring, plumbing, and structural beams are also included.
The text is a bit more comprehensive, and is better proof-read. The pictures aren't as pixelated this time around.
I'll write a more detailed review later, but there are a few parts that will surely leave the HBs fuming. The deployment and assembly of the rover is illustrated step-by-step. The "LRV can't fit in the LM!" argument is a tired and lazy one, but it's knocked down throughly here.
