I firmly believe that the Lunar Conspiracy Hoax has been created by the Hoaxers to line their pockets by confusing and entertaining the Hoaxees. It is a glorious celestial shell game!

Has anyone come up with the method for keeping all of the NASA employees (including astronauts) quiet on this matter? How does one silence their wives? Their wives' friends? Their wives' friends' friends?

There are several people in my astronomy group who worked on all or most of the Apollo Missions. They are not amused.

I wonder how much money the Hoaxers have amassed by now. I will bet a bundle!

I wonder if a class action lawsuit for fraud would work against the Hoax Belivers. I'm sure proving a conspiracy to bilk money from the hoaxees would not be easy to accomplish. I mean it is possible that the Hoax Believer writers just are too ignorant of the issues to believe otherwise.

Silencing the wives (or husbands) wouldn't be that hard, compared to the ex-spouses, especially the ex-wives of the moon walkers.

No. That's exactly the kind of publicity they would want. They'll spin it to seem like the Big Bad Government is out to silence them.

I don't know. Fraud, in the legal sense, is to use deception to obtain something of real value. David Percy still claims to have irrefutable proof of the hoaxed Apollo record. But he has been presented with adequate information for him not to be able to honestly make that claim. But I'm sure the court will rule that the readers have paid for a book and video, and have received a book and video and therefore there is no fraud.

There just isn't any real advantage to trying to pursue the hoax believers legally. The classic cure for bad speech is more speech, and that's what we're doing. They can try to fleece the flock all they want. We're there to provide the other side of the story.

Kizarvexis: Then again, lawsuits are expensive and we all lose while the HOAXER might already be working on the next hoax after having received all of that advertising (via lawsuits) from the rest of us.

jrkeller: Maybe the ex-wives/ex-spouses were a significant part of this hoaxing mess.

JayUtah: Very, very true...

JayUtah: The American flock just loves to be fleeced. In America there is a history of nonsense (P.T. Barnum, et al.) Sadly, the American public is full of true believers.

Now, if I had been smart enough to keep abreast of what was going on I might have tuned in to this mess. I missed all of the baloney because I watch very little television. Sometimes I could kick myself when something like this happens. It is physically very difficult to kick myself, however, so I will give up on that.

Can anyone prove that any ex-spouses of Apollo astronauts are still alive?
...just kidding...

Well, if you like, I could come over and kick you...

DONNIE B.:

There are many better methods for self-punishment than to permit you to injure a foot/leg/back attempting to place a good swift blow to my feeble butt. I get bored by television, particularly by the trivial fare on FOX, so being forced to watch anything on the FOX network would be sufficient punishment for missing their APOLLO fiasco. I simply am not masochistic enough to suffer through one of their programs.
