Default European mission to film Landing sites

I was looking for some details of the European mission to the moon - will they be filming the Apollo landing sites - proving we did go to the moon

Of course I understand that for those over the edge with this conspiracy stuff nothing will prove it - but I wanted to find out

I became interested in the subject when a friend brought me to his firehouse and a senior firefighter "explained" to me how the moon landings were hoaxes

I asked a few logical questions - but of course the only answer I got was "they were in on it" accompanied by a patronizing look at me for my abject failure to grasp the "truth"

( The Russians were "in on it"??? Um, isnt the whole point that we were afraid to show we couldn't do it and were hoaxing the USSR? )

btw - what does HB stand for?

Any info appreicated

And I really wouldn't care so much for this one paranoid - but a few other firemen came into the kitchen and suggested I "watch the video to learn some things" - its like an infection that is spreading!

High PM, welcome to the BABB!! I find your experience rather sad. I have such a great respect for firefighters. Perhaps you could direct your friends (if they have web access) to www.clavius.org. You will find a refutation of just about any HB claim there (HB meaning Hoax Believer). What video (the one that they wanted you to see) were they specifically refering to?

If you are talking about European SMART-1 probe currently orbiting the Moon, it does not have the resolution to photograph Apollo hardware. Upcoming Japanese Selene probe might, but it's several years away... and has been so for several years.

Well if you know the phrase then you understand it can be meant in a light hearted way as well :P

I don't know if web access will do the firehouse any good - they have a lot of free time though and have seen on of these hoax video's - a lot!

Is there a debunking video out there?

Yep - thats what I was asking about - too bad it can't photograph the landing sites in enough detail

We'll have to wait for the Japanese one

You mean, a kleptomaniac foulmouthed robot which drinks Guinness instead of... well, whatever Bender normally drinks?
