I was born in '71 so Footprints on the moon all my life. I had heard all the recordings and video feeds before, But never in the context like they presented in "The Dish".
the whole landing and first steps litereally had me on the edge of my seat, white knuckled. It was really bizzare because even though I knew what happened and how it turned out, I was feeling like I was in 1969, watching it live. I didn't realize it until he made historical "One small Step" statement and I let aut a huge, pent up breath of relief. Fantastic movie. It will be purchased and placed right next to The Right Stuff and Apollo 13. |

But who cares? The movie is just wonderful! =D> I have it on DVD and enjoy it very often (even if there is one sentence that I can't understand). And as skrap1r0n stated above, it really captures the fascination of the moment and brings it back to life for us. Unlike skrap1r0n, I was born in '58 and remember the landing. I'm glad The Dish could make this exciting for someone who at the time was only a twinkle in his parents' eyes.

This reminds me of the old American TV commercial with Paul Hogan promoting Australia as a tourist destination. Paul thanks a bartender for a beer, and the bartender responds with "she's raw mite!" I still don't know what this is intended to convey!

I also agree with the earlier comments, the history may be off, but it does answer some of the HB comments, most importantly the one about how they got the picture of Armstrong going down the ladder.

On the same theme, can anyone with sharp ears tell me what Al mutters under his breath after the ambassador has left the Dish? He says something about 'I can't believe what I just did, it's got to be a felony' and then he mutters something under his breath, but I have never been able to work out what he says.
Anyone?
