Default What type of sound are the Maggots looking for?

I vote for rap.

I’m working on the song Fly Me To The Moon (‘Cause The Aliens are Gonna Be Here Real Soon)

I chose atonal. And for rhythm, I think we should be a beat off...

I think there should have been an "other" category. I was thinking a reggae-electropop-punk-country western fusion kind of thing. And if you need someone to play bagpipes...ahem...I'm available.

I vote for the sound of one hand clapping, from the surface of the moon.

Then we try to get IDW to review it...

I'll go jazz-country-ska.

You don't want me playing anything more complicated than a tambourine. (Although I have a melllow tenor).

There are tenor tambourines? Do they come in alto and bass, too?

Of course. Every instrument in the world has a family and can be divided into SATB. Even rocks. (Sorry, Lithophones). ^_^

Well...since we are on about Astronomy (as well as hoaxes), Bach was (in)famous for musico-mathematical structures. Take this into post-modern classical and you could be doing all sorts of aleatoric fugues based on the geometries of free-return trajectories, or rythmic structures derived from sunspot activity....

Then, for precedence, there's Commander Cody and the Lost Planet Airmen...

Clearly, the only music that could be appropriate for a Pro Apollo Nutter band would be pop music dating from 1961-1972. Of course, this covers virtually all interesting popular music anyway, so it's not much of a limit.

Late Elvis... Beatles... British Invasion... American post-BritishInvasion bands like the Byrds and Doors... Hendrix and Joplin... early Zep and Allman Brothers...

You could even throw in some My Fair Lady/Sound of Music-era Broadway, for a change of pace.

What more could you want on your desert isle?

I voted "rock" as I haven't played rock yet. If you need some keyboard/synth action, I'm your man!

I also can put my 8) looking bas in action! (more as a gimmick than for music considering my experineces with the thing) See the "post a picture of yourself thread" p.35 or something like that.

I'm big on the folk-rock thing, myself, but I think it's all the years I've been in the SCA.

as I've said, I can both sing (heck, I'm brazen--I'll sing lead, if everyone else want to sing backup) and add to a string section, should we decide to have one. I'm even classically trained!

You'd have to do "William Shatner" by the Scofflaws.
