Is this the show featuring Jay ?
"Conspiracy Moon Landing [TV-G] In 1969, Neil Armstrong stepped onto the moon. The achievement was a monumental undertaking involving thousands of people - perhaps the greatest human endeavor. So why are there still those who claim that the moon landings were phony? I watched the show when it aired in Blighty and it was very good indeed.

I just saw this tonight for the first time. My only complaint was that it was too short, and that the viewer didn't have much time for the various debunkings to sink in before being whisked on to the next HBer claim.
Jay, I thought you did a great job with your demonstrations--which I would have expected. One thing I noticed at the end when Jim Oberg was talking--he had the BABB on the screen of the computer behind him! (I'm sure others have already made these observations when it first came out, but I since I just saw it for the first time, I thought I'd make them again.)

It was this show that got me interested in the whole "We faked the whole thing" conspiracy - before that I just kind of figured that everyone in the world accepted that Apollo had happened as advertised.
Takes all sorts I suppose. From watching the show it was but one small step to Clavius, Apollohoax forums and then here. Not to mention I have now developed an appetite for nitpicking the science of every movie I watch. My wife hates that ... ![]()

I captured the show on my computer while I was at work, then edited out all of the commericals before I sat down to watch it, good show.
I think it would have made a much better 2 hour show, instead of the 45 mintues they were able to use. Little time was spent addressing the problems with the silly glove in a vacuum chamber demo. It would have been nice to air questions and answers from the two hoax proponents on the show. Something like, "Mr. Kaysing, what is the radiation level (in rem/hour) the astronauts are exposed to in the Van Alan belts and while in lunar orbit?" Or, "Why would you consider lead to be a practical shield against particle radiation?" While it might be mean spirited, guys like these do not deserve to be treated with kid gloves. Ranb |

Just want to tell Jay he did a heck of a job. =D> I've read some of your stuff but there's nothing like seeing you demonstrate the various points you make to drive home the folly of the various HB arguments. I also wish the show lasted longer. HBers aside, it was fascinating to learn some things that's not usually covered in the moon-mission rehashes that I've seen, from the camera used (and how it was used) down to how Apollo 11 came close to landing in a boulder-strewn crater.
My hat's off to those brave men who made the journeys and you for addressing those HB promoters who try to soil their achievements. |

By the way, who is Jay? Is he a real astronomer?
I'm not even an amateur astronomer. I am an engineer professionally and a paid (although not necessarily professional) photographer. I also do lighting design for local film and theater on occasion, and so I know something of the behavior of light. Having a theoretical background in physics, a practical background in lighting and photography, and some training in photographic analysis (which isn't at all the same as being a photographer), I was attractive to the producers of that program. |

That, and Jay's incredible knowledge of the Apollo missions.

well, I finally got to see it, thanks to the sweetest poster on the board, Maksutov, who sent it to me! (we got the package, and all I could think at first was, "who on Earth do I know in Oxford, MS?")
Jay, you were marvelous, and I don't just think that 'cause I know you. I was gushing about it at Ren Faire this weekend, and one of my real-life friends had seen it and agreed. said she'd never heard of it being faked before, but even if she'd had a leaning toward believing it, you would have convinced her.
