My grandma was a pack rat. I never liked going to her house because it was so messy. However, now I am glad that she was a pack rat. She had saved many LIFE magazines from the 50s and 60s, most of which were pretty worn. I was surprised to find two that were in very near mint condition (i.e., the pages are not creased and are impeccably white.) These magazines look brand-new. My dad attributed the near-mint quality due to being buried underneath all of my grandma's junk (I never thought so much junk could be such a wonderful preserver )

Anyway, I'm sure many of you have seen [and even have] these particular issues; my parents had saved copies of these particular issues, but theirs are almost worn to pieces. So for your viewing pleasure, I have posted scans of the near mint condition issues that I recently acquired:

I used to have a copy of the NY Times from the day after the first moon landing, but it got misplaced over the years. :-?

also, look at that picture again, how is it ever going to balance on the Saturn V cluster? It looks waaay to big! Either that or the booster is really tiny!

It's not, of course. In fact, the photo shows it falling off even before launch. Which proves how unstable it is.

Also, I don't see the Lunar Rover anywhere. Isn't it supposed to be strapped to the outside, 'cause it sure can't fit inside?
