Default Have you guys heard the Bare Arm theory?

WARNING: Entering Woo Woo Land! You Have Been Warned!

Okay on another forum, there is this guy who actually believes he''s found a picture of a "bare arm" in space.

I've tried to debate with him a bit, but he's too far beyond reason to even consider ther possibility that he's wrong.

This is his latest post

I think I'm going to stop posting on that thread, it's just too ridiculous

Here's another thread he started a while back, same topic

I've certainly not heard of this "bare arm" stuff before...and unfortunately, I can't seem to access the ALSJ video, and I don't own the A12 mission on DVD.

But really, a bare arm??? That's too funny. It looks like a piece of equipment, I just can't place it.

You could PM JayUtah, (he won't bite ) and ask him to investigate this.

added...it must be a pretty sad argument if he can't even convince MK Ultra.

I dont think this is even worth any investigation.

Yeah, I was just going to edit my post to read..."someone here will have more information than I about this" and deleting the "PM Jay" part...but you beat me to it.

That is funny...sometimes it's good to keep a "sense of humour" about these things.

I'm not sure if you were refering to me or Sunofone when you said that, but just in case. He was being serious!

I’ll nominate this guy for the Richard Hoagland Award in the category of Creative Visualizations Uncritically Projected Onto Fuzzy Images.

This is a high honor, as Hoagland himself is the only two time winner of an Ig® Nobel Prize.

Sonofone is a proponent of the GUCT (grand unified conspiracy theory).

I used to hang out on that forum, in the conspiracy area. There were a few folks there who would listen to reason, but Sonofone is a pure unadulterated ideologue.

I'm over at my Daughter's house (high speed connection ) so I have now viewed the video in question. The idea that the "whatever" is a human arm is preposterous. It still looks like a piece of equipment used during the mission, but it's only in frame for a very short time so I can't be sure. As has been mentioned by others elsewhere, if it were an arm it's missing a hand and fingers.

You know, the HB pickens just keep gettin' slimmer and slimmer as the years go by.

Looks like an out-of-focus piece of insulation over tubing that happened to catch some diffracted light. Anyone ever see an orange, almost untanned-flesh-colored sunset or sunrise?

ow! my brain!

see, the thing here is that I freely admit to a certain level of ignorance re: Apollo, physics in general, etc. however, I've never seen a hoax "theory" that I believe. I have never seen "proof" that can't be shot down easily by, well, you guys. frankly, a lot of their proof doesn't take you guys to shoot it down; even I, English major though I am, can look at it and say, "but no, you're wrong, because of such-and-such."

the arm thing is just silly.

Woo-woo or not, I stand staunchly behind that man's constitutional right to bare arms.

Amended to read: LOL!

=D> =D> =D>

Look out for PETA though. They want to change that so they have the right to arm bears!
