Default Moon Gravity Faked

After a lot of careful scientific research & analysis, I think I've discovered how they faked all that low gravity stuff on the "moon".

Obviously the Apollo astronauts each had one of those. Of course it was painted green so that the FX dept. at NASA could digitally remove it during post-production.

The question of course is, which end of the device is holding the dead weight?

I must admit I did wonder a bit about the speed with which the dust settled behind the wheels of the moon rover, but better brains than mine will no doubt be able to explain that.

The reason it looks "fast" by comparison to how dust behaves in Earth's six-times greater gravity is: no atmosphere. Instead of billowing into a suspended cloud which then gradually descends back down, as dust behaves on Earth, on the Moon each dust particle follows its ballistic path up and right down again. This is also why the dust appears to remain "compacted' compared to how it behaves in Earth's atmosphere.

I thought for sure that guy would go over the top and land on his head near the end of the video. To paraphrase Maxwell Smart, he missed the Darwin awards by "that much."

It wouldn't be that hard to build, you could even get most of the parts from Home Depot. I think I'd put springs and a block on the thing to limit the swing distance so I wouldn't have to worry about going completely over. That could really ruin your day.

I was thinking a crossbar. I thought the gadget was pretty cool actually. Not that I'd go out in public to play with it...
