"Biography of 'Wild' Bill Kaysing, Fastest Pen in the West
By Aria C. Munro

PRESS RELEASE

MONTROSE, Calif. - June 24 -- Dietrich von Schmausen along with Wendy L. Kaysing have announced their plans to write the posthumus biography of William C. Kaysing, familiarly known as "Wild" Bill Kaysing, The Fastest Pen in the West. Mr. Kaysing was probably best known for the controversy he ignited as the "Father" of the Apollo Moon Hoax Conspiracy Theory. Mr. Kaysing has appeared on Oprah, Sally Jessy, specials on FOX and BBC and many radio talk shows and television shows all over the world.

Controversy aside, Bill Kaysing was an accomplished author of many published works on a wide range of subjects including motorcycle safety, low-cost living, farming, cooking and travel, tax relief, senior survival and more. Mr. Kaysing wrote about his passions and consequently gathered an international following. He believed in what he wrote and lived it as well, as many would testify. He was loved by many, inspired millions, and was the subject of debate by many more. He was truly a renaissance man of the last century.

Sadly, Mr. Kaysing passed away at the end of March this year.

Mr. von Schmausen is Mr. Kaysing's nephew, and will reveal insights into his life and character that go far beyond those of most of his closest friends and, in some respects, his immediate family. Mr. von Schmausen's background spans over thirty-five years in Electronics Engineering Services and administration, including nearly nine years in Deep Space Network Engineering for NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Kaysing's daughter, Wendy Lynn Kaysing is also a writer. Her background includes working as a reporter and staff writer for The Hartford News, Hartford magazine, Bird Talk magazine, and is former editor of The Voice of Hartford Parents. Currently she is working as a freelance writer and editor in addition to having written several feature length screenplays.

Mr. von Schmausen and Ms. Kaysing plan to co-write what they characterize as a compendium of reflections, incidents, quotes, and philosophies, goals and successes of one of the most controversial persons of our time. According to the writers, the focus will be on the life (alt: adventures and misadventures) of Mr. Kaysing, rather than a recap of his Apollo theories.

The authors are currently seeking representation and invite agents and/or would be publishers to contact them for what they believe will be a sure-fire best seller, as the name "Bill Kaysing" has a ready audience world wide. The working title is: Life and Times with "Wild" Bill Kaysing, the Fastest Pen in the West. "

Is this the fellow that was hiding from the CIA in the desert with his cats?

Perhaps. One could imagine that they would say something like "Ah, the CIA hitmen finally found him. They must have watched that TV program, where he gave away his location .... "

Kaysing certainly wasn't "hiding" in the desert. He faxed his address and directions to his place to anyone who asked, including Zig Zag Productions who had no trouble finding him.

I certainly don't mind his fans eulogizing him. But I wish his pen had been slower and more careful.

If he passed away at the end of March, why are we only hearing about it a few months later? Did the family take that long in leting it be known? Or did someone just go to check on him after realizing he hadn't been heard from in a couple months?

Hmmm... I smell a cover-up. I mean, does anyone seriously believe it's "just a coincidence" that he died in the same month that Julius Caesar was assassinated? Yeah, right!

Either that, or it took his own family three months to come up with anything nice to say about him...

It was announced during a press conference in March, but no one believed it because the footage was clearly filmed in a studio.

When interviewed yesterday about this event, Ralph Rene said that Kaysing faked his own death and, since March, has been living in a parallel shadow universe.

Rene also mentioned that he had inherited Kaysing's cats pro temp, and will using them in experiments designed to disprove NASA claims that humans can survive the extreme accelerations that are part of spaceflight. Reporters left before Rene could rig the huge, cat-launching slingshot/leaf blower he calls the "Whamo Slamo Feline Flinger".

Rene called the reporters' lack of interest "a vandalizing of history."

Are you kidding around here? Normally, one would not have to ask this but considering the participants...Well, I'm sure you see what I mean!

Well, it's within the realm of possibility for the culprits mentioned, but for what I wrote, it's just humor.

Of course that doesn't mean it won't show up in some woowoo article somewhere about the scientific pursuits of Ralphie and his taking up the Kaysing "torch", which is probably one of the best examples of an Earthly black body that one could imagine.

His moon hoax writings were abysmal. My local library has one other of his books, but I haven't read it.

I thought about this topic a little more, and decided I would blog about it.

I share your frustration/fury with HBs, Phil, but I think you really brought up and interesting point when you mentioned the pages fighting the hoax.

"Believing" in moon missions, for me was never a problem: My dad took me to Florida in 1969 and I watched Apollo 11 lift off with my own eyes. One may as well ask if I "believe" in the monitor I am sitting at.

I forget how I stumbled across Bad Astronomy, last year. It led me to Clavius and other sites. Since that time I have learned so much about so many different things. As you say, it rekindled not only my interest, but also my awe in the things mankind has been able to achieve.

I have to admit to the same. Being down here in the other half of downunder and being part of the Space Shuttle generation (My highlight as a kid was watching the first luanch of Columbia and I have a model of it so it was extra distressing to watch it as it disintergrated few years back) I always believed in Apollo and had watched shows such as Apollo 13 and From the Earth to the Moon, but I never really knew Apollo. Until the Fox special was aired I didn't even know enough to know that some people didn't believe it was real. Now I spend a lot of my time talking Apollo and learning more about it. I can locate photos in minutes and even transcript of radio transmissions, things that 4 years ago I would never have been able to do.

So, I guess in that way I too have to thank Bill Kaysing because without him, I would have carried on with not knowing enough about Apollo to defend it.

Anyone up for starting a pool on how long until, and/or, which one of The Dark Lord's ilk go public with the... news  that he had finally found irrefutable, smoking-gun proof of the hoax, only to die... mysteriously :-s. We all know they do it every time a potential whistle-blowing astronaut/NASA insider dies... mysteriously.

'Course, Jack White is regularly coming out with irrefutable, smoking-gun proof... (which is promptly refuted and the gun shown to be loaded with blanks. =D>) and he's still breathing.

BA,

Excellent writing.

=D> =D> =D>

Without contrast, how would we know good from bad, light from dark, and baloney from facts?

BTW, I submitted a reply to a post in your Kaysing blog entry. The screen did some "unusual" stuff and now I see the link to a particular BABB thread is messed up. What did I do wrong? Are links not allowed in blog replies? Or is there a different format? :-k
