Default Moon hoax subject at the Canberra Science Festival

http://www.sciencefestival.com.au/popups/moon.html

Quote:
Ever since Neil Armstrong uttered his immortal words on the ladder of Apollo11, doubts about the authenticity of the moon landings have persisted. Hoax advocates not only believe that Apollo11 was faked but that all of the six manned lunar landings were staged, probably somewhere in the American deserts. This lecture will look at the main reasons people think the missions were hoaxed. Join renowned UK science communicator, Ken Skeldon to consider the pros and cons of the conspiracy theory.

Supported by the Australian Government as part of National Science Week.

Date Saturday, August 20

Hey Peter B,

That's in your neck of the woods. Any plans to attend it?

Hey, a myth is as good as a mile...

or in this case ~1/240,000 miles!

Oooh!

That's the weekend after I get back. Wonder if I can talk the girlfriend into going?

Hmmm.
Bribe her (it always works) and then, remember, we expect a detailed report!

See the subject header for this thread. Also, there's a link in the first message.

Heh! New Zealanders seem to have a problem accepting the existence of Canberra. Must be something to do with the fact that the Canberra Brumbies have twice beaten Kiwi teams to win the Super 12 rugby.

Actually I just looked at the link and didn't see anything other than the conference center. If it had been Brisbane, Sydney or Melborne I might have seen if I could have gotten over, but oh well.

It seems some ex-Trackies from Honeysuckle Creek and Tidbinbilla are going to attend.
