Yeah, check out the "sightings" link above.

Sometimes the talks have a cover charge most often they're free. Sometimes there's a lunch or dinner option. I went to a free lecture by Charlie Duke and it was great, got to shake his hand and ask questions. A friend of mine has had dinner with a moonwalker, just like Thumper was dreaming about. He loved it.

Mr. Aldrin could, of course, sue to keep that clip from Bart's latest "production". (Almost forgot to put that in quotes)
So what will we have?
Nah, he should sue for royalties for use of that footage. He could donate what ever he get's for it to NASA.

As for my two cents on this whole thing. From the sound of it, Buzz probably felt threatened by Bart's actions, and there for defended himself from said threat. I would have done the same in his place.

In my opinion Bart had it coming, but from how he acted in that situation, not as a whole.

At least everyone is laughing at Bart for it. Which is a plus, no one is really taking him seriously.

So... I just saw all of this on Celebrity Justice (joke of a tabloid show) but anyway, apparently preliminary results of thier online poll said that 68% of viewers think Buzz was justified in clocking him. What I think people are failing to note though, is that Sibrel lured Buzz to the hotel under false pretenses (FRAUD!) and HARRASSED him (in colorado a class 2 misdemeanor. Not to mention putting Buzz and his step daughter in direct physical danger by interfering thier safe crossing of the street. I know how Californians drive (no offense guys, I learned to drive there), and Buzz was lucky he didn't get hit by a car.

The question isn't was Buzz justified, or should Buzz be charged, but how many crimes Sibrel commited before Buzz popped him. Not to mention the damage done to the knuckles of a real American hero.

This might be very late, but I can't let this go.

The Rusty Lander: Why not face his accuser head on and say "Let's sit down and discuss this man to man. I've got nothing to hide, let's keep that camera rolling. Ask me anything. Show me the anomalies and I'll explain them"

Oh please. Do really you think Sibrel would sit down and behave like a gentleman? He repeatly poked Aldrin and telling him to repent. Sibrel doesn't want his anomalies explained, and he's get very angry and upset when you do. Therefore there's no advantage for Buzz to do that.

If they have nothing to hide, why do they keep running away?

They don't. The astronauts will respond to conspiracy theories to those who are polite and are looking for an honest answer. Unfortunately Sibrel is neither.

Why do many of them shut themselves off from the world?

Again, false.

He could not face his accuser because he really is hiding something.

No, that's consummate question begging. A more likely answer is that Aldrin didn't because he knows that any reponse will spun by his accuser to support his conclusion.

He only wants to live in a world where everyone agrees that he did what he says he did and anything else he can't stand.

In your uninformed opinion.

Ask yourself, if you were falsely accused of something, would you hit them to shut them up or would you try to have an honest, open discussion with them?

That's not how it was. First, since Aldrin is familiar with Sibrel from past instances, and knows what he's doing, it is reasonable to assume that Aldrin knows that nothing can convince Sibrel he is wrong. Therefore, it does no good trying to talk him out of it.
Second, Sibrel is much larger and heavier than Aldrin, and according to eyewitnesses, can pose a credible physical threat against him, and called him a liar and a thief.

Besides, Sibrel refused to provide all of the unedited footage to the police. Don't you think that's suspicious?

According to this page, Sibrel's quest for assault charges hasn't worked.

For that matter, number 7 irritates me too. I saw a documentary last night (bout how NASA was working to reinforce it's Kennedy Center buildings from hurricanes), and the narrator kept saying "Nassau". I cringed every time he said it.

Okay, I've seen a couple references to this, but I'm questioning it. Where exactly did it come out that Sibrel did not provide the full video of the encounter to the police?

I would hate for anyone here to be spreading falsehoods, even unknowingly, so can someone document this?

Considering the fact that mr. sibrel is not playing with a full deck, and probably has bats in his belfry...why cannot two little men in white coats haul him off to be examined by Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson...someplace in London...on Baker Street...Basil Rathbone could find the answer to his puzzle!

I guess Phil now knows how to deal with Mr. Sibrel.

Oh and one more thing to Mr. Sibrel: Try joining a gym. 37 years old getting his expletive deleted by The Bad Astronomer kicked by a 72 year old can only mean one thing: Big fat wimp.

On the TrekBBS Tech forum a guy had a chance to ask Aldrin a few questions..

wonderstoat:
"I have an opportunity to ask a couple of questions of Buzz Aldrin soon.
After a lifetime of reading about the Apollo programme, I'm now stumped as to what I could ask him! All I can think of is, would he have still wished to be on the first moon flight if he had known it would be his last time in space?

So, anyway, I would welcome any suggestions as to what you think a good question would be to ask him!

Thanks

Stoatie "

About Buz Aldrin, he did the right thing; when someone blocks your path, he should have a serious reason for doing so, i.e. preventing a crime etc. Otherwise it is a form of imprisonment, even if it is temporary. The only way to deal with that, after calling the police doesn't work, is to thoroughly kick his ***, which wasn't done. Thumbs-up, Buz. Bill Davenport

how silly of you all to think that man went to the moon. Observing pictures it is clear to see a STRAIGHT line in the middle of one picture inidcating a backdrop.

you're all such silly gooses.

Well, most of us are highly educated -- many of us in the sciences that took us there. Our belief is not "silly", it's based on fact.

Observing pictures it is clear to see a STRAIGHT line in the middle of one picture inidcating a backdrop.

Which picture? And is this the only Apollo picture you've seen?

Just out of curiousity, do you live in the mountains? I do. What you guys say is so "anomalous" about that type of photo is something I see on a daily basis in real life.

Fak3n3ss, please do not diverge from the subject of this thread. Many of us do not want this locked because of one perosn.

If you want to talk this over start a new thread and show facts with verfiable proof or at least back it up. If you want to, use the BABB search and look up your arguments beforehand. We have talked about many of the questions you probobly have. If you don't find them, ask us. We will be glad to help you.

ok well, the STRAGIHT line can be found in the 'INFAMOUS FLAG WAVING' picture. if u look carefuly you can indeed see a straight line, that COULD inidcate a backdrop, yes I do realize that this could be a drop or could indeed be a backdrop. Also in the same picture, both the shadows of the LM and the ASTROANUT are going one way, but hten all of a sudden, the FLags shadow is going the opposite direction. That just perplexes me.

also does any1 know how they got the lunar rover onto the moon?
that perplexes me as well.

thank you
