During his interview on MSNBC, B.S. made the point that the signal from CM and I guess the LM too, were controlled by the government/NASA. I couldn't be certain, but it sounded like B.S. said that the TV stations got their signals directly from NASA.

Is that really the case? I'm sure there is more to it than that. So I guess my real question is how did the signal get to NASA and the TV stations. Also was it different in Australia?

As I understand it, the signals from the Moon went as follows:

CSM/LM -> Goldstone, Madrid, or Honeysuckle Creek/Parks -> Goddard Space Flight Center (NASA's communications center) -> Houston -> distributed to networks

For Australia, though, the television feed was sent straight out from the tracking station there, rather than going to the US and back. (The Aussie stations were the ones in view during the Apollo 11 moonwalk.)

Now, there was some step in the distribution where a camera was pointed at a monitor to convert the images to something that was compatible with US network television, but I'm not sure where that occurred. Twinkies seem to consider this a suspicious step for some reason.

The camera-monitor arrangement occurred at the remote MSFN stations. It was the cheapest, easiest, and most straightforward way to convert the frame format (i.e., frame rate and resolution) to a standard format.

Many hoax believers mistake this for a requirement that the networks had to point their cameras at the big screen in Mission Control. This was not the case. They were given electronic feeds.
