It appears that the Martians, which shot down the Mars Polar Lander (MPL), have attempted to disable the Mars Global Surveyor, which is in Mars orbit, so that it cannot get good pictures of the crash site. As you may recall, the Martians had significant success, shooting down probes such as the MPL, Beagle II, and others. The battle continues.

Interesting interpretation of the linked material...you wouldn't happen to have any evidence to back up that interpretation, would you?

At first, I missed the wink as well.

I was going ask if the Martians are able to shoot down MPL in orbit, how come they didn't do something about the rover which is currently cruising around on the surface?
