Default looking for Apollo astronaut quote

Ok, this is not an Apollo/lunar conspiracy, but I find that if I need to know something about Apollo, this is the place to ask, having such a large concentration of Apollo enthusiasts.

I'm looking for a quote (I think it is by John Young, but I'm not sure.) I know that a BA poster used the quote in his signature (but I'm not sure if said user still has it, because I can't locate it.) Anyway, the quote deals with how things were measure, i.e., the lunar surface in kilometers, speed in nautical miles, (and I forget what the last unit was.)

If you know what quote I'm talking, please tell. Thanks.

Errr, I'm not sure if I can help but did you want a reference for what units distance and speed were officially used in NASA / Apollo, or did you want an actual quote (which is what I think you want)?

I am indeed interested in the nauts/kilometers/[and whatever else] used in space/on the moon/[and where ever else], so please fire away with those units. I was looking for the quote because of its aptness regarding the units used, i.e., it is rather humorous in nature, (so if anyone can still locate said quote, please make it known.)

It's the footnote to this article, by Jack Schmitt.

I think John Young's quote was about it was hard to judge distance on the moon because there aren't any telephone poles.

I think the quote you want is from Harrison Schmidt

I see I was ToSeeked by Jay.

If you like John Young, try this site.

Here his quote

"It's kind of hard to tell distances on the Moon. You know why? Because there aren't any telephone poles up there yet."

Thanks Jay, it's all coming back to me (i.e., now that I recall the quote [in the signiture of whomever it was who had it], I do remember it being attributed to Schmitt.) And [to others who replied,] even though I was mistaken on John Young being the author of the quote, thanks anyway for the links regarding him.
