Errr, I'm not sure if I can help but did you want a reference for what units distance and speed were officially used in NASA / Apollo, or did you want an actual quote (which is what I think you want)?

I am indeed interested in the nauts/kilometers/[and whatever else] used in space/on the moon/[and where ever else], so please fire away with those units. I was looking for the quote because of its aptness regarding the units used, i.e., it is rather humorous in nature, (so if anyone can still locate said quote, please make it known.)

I see I was ToSeeked by Jay.
If you like John Young, try this site. Here his quote "It's kind of hard to tell distances on the Moon. You know why? Because there aren't any telephone poles up there yet." |

Thanks Jay, it's all coming back to me (i.e., now that I recall the quote [in the signiture of whomever it was who had it], I do remember it being attributed to Schmitt.) And [to others who replied,] even though I was mistaken on John Young being the author of the quote, thanks anyway for the links regarding him.
