Speaking of RCH, I'll bet he's hard at work with his magical image manipulation machine trying to make (non) sense of this image:

Yep, and we can be sure that RCH, McCanney, Stevens, Noory, and many other s fall into THAT cateory! Regards, tbm |

This would be more appropriate in Conspiracy Theories.

Actually, on UT we used to get a message from the Planet X folks every time there was a major hurricane, saying that it was caused by PX's gravity making low pressure in the tropical Atlantic.

How popular is the Divine retribution theory, i.e that this is judgement metered put against the great Satan. (Or those affected states for some imagined moral offences)
I just wonder if those making that kind of stuff have ever read Luke 13 ![]()

"Now that hurricane Rita has gained category 5 status, how long will it be before :Richard Hoagland claims that it reached this strength so quickly because of "hyperdimensional physics"?"
It did not take him very long. However this time he is blaming it on a secret government weapons project. http://www.enterprisemission.com/weblog/weblog.htm CAUTION: don't read this stuff just after a meal!!!!

Another disaster, another woowoo feeding frenzy. Why can't these folks simply do something useful for a change and either try to help or simply get out of the way? After all, sometimes NFBSK just happens. - Maha (needs a few margaritas after that rant) Vailo

Scott Stevens was mentioned briefly at the beginning of this thread. He's apparently really popular now.
Here in the Lost Angeles area, I was listening to the afternoon drivetime buttheads this evening. Instead of the usual fare of foaming-at-the-mouth illegal alien bashing (give up -- nothing is gonna change), camping out in front of courthouses where notorious trials are being held (with bullhorns -- why the judges don't slam 'em into the tank I've never understood), and the like, maybe they feel they need to compete with Matt Drudge (now there's a name) and George Noury and Art Bell. This evening they were giving airtime to this Stevens nutcase: http://www.usatoday.com/weather/clim...atherman_x.htm http://www.flashnews.com/news/wfn1050908J5463.html Here's the loony's own page: http://www.weatherwars.info/ Yup, it has the Tipoff Word in there: Chemtrails. Yes, he sees cloud pictures too. Squares, T-squares, boxes, circles. http://www.weatherwars.info/bestofsquares.htm Pete who sees a ducky, a horsey, and Mao Tse Tung doing the nasty with Hillary Clinton |

Really guys how can you believe Hyper-dimensional energy (or whatever Hoagland is proposing) is increasing the strength of Rita? Really. Everyone knows its the aliens who use their technology to ravage our planet in an attempt to embarress George Bush.
Conspiracy theorists now just find it habit to blame any natural event on some spooky effect that no-one but them has discovered. We understand the dynamics of hurricanes quite well so outlandish theories are not the best way to add to one's reputation. You only use outlandish theories when general science can't explain the facts comprehensively. |

Almost forgot. The hurricane / chemtrails / HAARP woo-woo who was on local yak radio the other night, made another allegation -- that the Russians sank the USS Thresher in 1963 using a HAARP-like "beam."
Easy enough to find the loonie bins. http://www.cuttingedge.org/news/n1353.cfm http://www.franz-lee.org/files/spa_00180.html Oooh, oooh, this is just too good: "However, talking about the "Columbia National Disaster", do you know that on November 12, 1981, Shuttle Columbia STS2 supposedly carried Astronauts Joseph Engle and Richard Truly. In fact there were no human pilots aboard. It was shot down by Russian TU-144 jet airplanes using beam weapons, over the White Sea, Finland." (Folks, the TU-144 was the Soviet version of the Concorde). "Why it does not rain so much anymore?" But it does; you just don't notice it when wearing a tinfoil beanie. More of this Columbia-that-wasn't loony tune: http://www.subversiveelement.com/FireFromSky14.html As for Scottie Stevens, reading his bio, it does not appear that he actually finished a degree in meteorology. Says he went to U. of Kansas because "the math requirements at KU weren't too tough." (Nor the evolution requirements, I suppose). Looking at the timeline, it doesn't look like he could have finished before taking a full-time job. So his meteorological qualification is -- and you have to love this -- a Boy Scout Merit Badge. Now, everything I've read about HAARP indicates that it's effective target is "straight up", only affecting an area of some tens of kilometers at the target altitude [1]. I don't get it... |

As a former Scout (made it to Explorer), I always wondered about the "To help other people at all times" bit. How do you do that when you're sleeping? Then maybe there's a case for do-gooders being out of the way. That's not to mention the first part.

Tell me something, did you guys actually want a debate on this, or just another chance to kick idiots like Hoagland, and Stevens in the proverbial nuts, some out here are concerned about the effects of climate change, and how this bodes for future generations, this does not make me a woo-woo. Got plenty of "science" on this if you want it,and its compiled from very reputable sources, not head-banger web sites.
