Default The Truth Behind Bigfoot, The Lochness Monster, Mole People, etc...

We all know that creatures like bigfoot, kink kong, the lochness monster, godzilla, and that sort dont really exist. but in the back of our minds we think,"Could Be". but first of all, as many have already argued, for creatures like big foot there has to be some kind of parents or offspring that create these creatures over and over again

as for dumping radition stuff into places effecting these beings.. well thats just crazy. hollywood often over exaggerates about things. if a lizard or ape came in contact with radiation, plutonium* or something like that i doubt they would grow to be 10 stories tall. it's more likely that they would get cancer or something and die.

this is kind of like what is happening to frogs and sort at swamps that are being effected by man. their side effcts are distored bodies like an extra leg or something.

you dont see 50 foot frogs going around picking up girls and flying away?

Heh, plus the fact that at certain sizes, the body would collapse in on itself, thanks to Gravity.

"Kink kong"? Sounds... kinky. o_O

Well, I would certainly believe in Bigfoot a long time before I'd believe in the Loch Ness Monster (hiding a ten-foot ape in thousands of acres of uninhabited forest is a lot easier than hiding a giant prehistoric sea creature in a lake that isn't even a mile wide; also there is plenty of fossil evidence to suggest that we were contemporaries or near-contemporaries of Gigantopithicus, which was a creature very similar to the Bigfoot/yeti, whereas the chances of a plesiosaur somehow surviving the extinction of the dinosaurs and inexplicably ending up in a freezing lake in the middle of Scotland are somewhat lower), so it isn't a question of "YES! NO!" There are... nuances.

You know what's funny, I was attracted to this thread when I saw kink in the "description". I was going to make a joke, but it involves me, too.

Take el Chupacabra into consideration. It's quite believable, but then again, it's got to be a great way to bring publicity to Puerto Rico, aye?

Neither. I either know something or I don't. "Belief" is not part of the equation.

Now, regarding the Mole People, of course they're real. I've seen them in movies!

Two words: "breeding population."

One would think that after all these years a hunter would have stumbled across a "bigfoot corpse" of something...yet they haven't.

I voted no. But I don't like the "absolutely not" part. About 7.327% of me wants to keep an open mind, to believe in bigfoot and Nessie.

But then again, as R.A.F. pointed out, why have we NEVER found any remains? There's a lower limit to the size of a population. Below that, inbreeding will occur and extinction becomes inevitable.

Bigfoot's best hope was the Patterson film taken years back that turned out to be someone in a gorilla costume.

Nessie has been around forever it seems. She's a product of overactive imaginations, hoaxes, and shrewd locals that know a good tourist magnet when they see one.

Chubacabras are the latest rage and every dead one turned over for investigation has turned out to be a known animal .. unless you believe that covert US military teams captured a few in Chile a few years ago as per some woo woo scuttlebutt.

My favorite non-existent cryptoid is the Mongolian Death Worm. This thing is supposed to kill from a distance and look like a giant cattle intestine.

Would that be the intestines of the fabled giant bovines (like Babe, the blue ox), or merely the disproportionately sized intestines of regular cattle?

Even more off - topic: One of dad's favorite stories is about cow intestines. It really doesn't belong in this thread, but feel free to pm me if you want to read it.

I would have bet some money that you were just kidding about this one. I would have lost!

Someone went through quite a bit of work to steady the "Patterson Film", that bouncing, shaky, Holy Grail of Bigfootologists video that purports to show one of the only glimpses of the elusive creature.

http://www.bigfootencounters.com/files/mk_davis_pgf.gif

Notice his posture and walk.

Is it an ultra elusive, never seen before or since, ancient primate, representing a great missing link in our evolution...

Or a guy in a monkey suit?

Quite frankly, a question like that takes a lot of guts IMO.
