Default Bob White recovered Material from a UFO.

Sounds like a hoax to me,but if it cant be replicated like he claims...well,I guess he claims a lot:-) My question is,has anyone heard what happened to this claim,I have looked but found nothing that debunks it. The object looks like a fossilised seed pod or a pine cone, but that doesn`t add up with the material its said to be made of.

"This metal matches nothing being manufactured on this planet
now or in 1985 when Bob White recovered it from his UFO encounter.
The list of elements are here..See for yourself..Find a match..if you can..
who makes its..and for what purpose it is used.."

From # 29 of the "list"...

That's a BIG "red flag" right there. The onis is not on "us" to prove him wrong...he has the burden of proving himself right.

And what's with all the "ranting" about James Randi??

I know, James Randi, a.k.a. The Amazing Randi, magician and author of numerous works skeptical of paranormal claims. I guess he is going for the money, James offers "a one-million-dollar prize to anyone who can show, under proper observing conditions, evidence of any paranormal, supernatural, or occult power.

Which is what I don't understand...what is it about "supposed evidence of alien metal" that would make it paranormal, supernatural or occult?

To me, both the internal structure and the surface structure make it seem as it this is metal scrap from a pouring line. It has a sort of droplet shape, and inside you see rings. The "feathers" are where the metal cracked during the pouring.

Just a guess of course.

btw 80% down the website there's the sentence "the truth starts here". Nice one

(2 lines lower, there is "the air force does not exist". I have seen lots of things that don't make any sense, but...)

That's my first thought.
Similar (though not the same since it's a different metal) to the tin dregs that I've seen at the smelters where my Dad used to work.

He got this piece while being abducted by aliens? He should have simply asked a signed photograph .

No, no, you're wrong, it says:

Quote:
THE TRUTH
STARTS
HERE
[...]
THE AIR FORCE DOESN'T EXSIST
You shouldn't alter a quote by taking out the full caps and a spelling mistake. It has to be there for authenticy. Of course, I took out the bolded big-lettered colored stuff, but that's just to not abuse your eyes.

By the way, the truth starts on four different places on that web site.

Too bad the truth ends on about 17000 places in that website as well.

I'll try to quote all the important details of woo² sites in the future .

The Air Force doesn't exist? Perhaps someone should tell that to the folks around here (I work at the Air Force Academy). They probably would like to know that they are wasting their time.

Nothing very extraordinary in: Anomalous Metal Sample Analysis

[National Institute for Discovery Sciences has a mission statement that includes: "The National Institute for Discovery Science (NIDS) is a privately funded science institute engaged in research of aerial phenomena, animal mutilations, and other related anomalous phenomena,"] and an advisory board including the likes of Jacques Vallee and Harold Puthoff.]

I hope you cashed your check before they stopped existing.

It's so nice to be accused of the most ridiculous things. A GLP like creature once "knew" that I had been in the moon hoax from the start, that I worked on false evidence during the missions itself.

I was about minus 15 years in 1969 .

I know, that's pretty much what I was thinking. My dad was a twenty-year man. Buried in Riverside National Cemetery and everything. My question is, what was he doing all those years?

You know, lots of people pretend they have a job to do. But even have to pretend your employer exists, wow.

Well I know that Hollywood aliens all seem to use strange and unusual items, but why would they really do so? I'd imagine that when you get right to it, they will manufactor things similar to our own. Why wouldn't they have brand names, serial numbers and expiry dates on them. Even if we can't read the lnguage, surely it would have something on it. How many tools or items do we have that don't have some sort of identification marking on them?

Off the top of my head, all I can think of is forks, knives and spoons.
Even then, I'm sure there are some out there with a "Made In" or "24 Karat" or "Sterling Silver" "Manufacturer’s Name" or "'The Something' Collection" type engravings.

Let's see now .. aliens or advanced terrestrial technology that is being withheld from us doesn't exist ..

So ... any evidence to the contrary is unworthy of legitimate, thorough, unbiased, ongoing investigation ...

Therefore any evidence brought to these forums will be discredited by the first and most convenient explanation, innuendo, or any other shallow and lazy non scientific method ...

Not exactly, aliens or advanced terrestrial technology are concepts that have yet to be proven to exist. That's not saying that such things don't exist, just that there isn't evidence that they do. As for knowledge being withheld, one could claim knowledge of literally anything is being withheld by all sorts of clandestine groups, hence the reason that this line of reasoning is fallacious.

If irrefutable evidence is found that contradicts a hypothesis, then it's the hypothesis that needs revision or dismissal.

If the evidence isn't very good, if it's easily discredited, then there's your answer right there. As to the "convenient explanation", if a more simple and logical explanation exists then by the principle of parsimony such explanation is considered as being more probable. And this type of reasoning isn't "shallow and lazy", this is what critical thinking entails.

Track down a copy of the "Condon Report", if you can find it. It was one of the classic early investigations of "unexplained" aerial phenomona, and had a wonderful appendix written by a senior bod who worked at the Royal Aircraft Establishment at Farnborough.

He had previously been involved in investigating the "ghost rocket" phenomena that occurred shortly after the Second World War. In short this related to sightings of "advanced missiles/rockets" in some Scandinavian countries that people thought may have been of Soviet origin. Anyway, on one occasion he was called out to, IIRC, Sweden where a farmer had found a fragment of one of these "rockets" after it had crashed in his vicinity. Again, it had properties unlike any material that modern science could produce. When the RAE guy turns up and looks at the specimen, he has a "Doh!" moment as he works out what this unearthly material is, but he still sends it back
