Matt, that post says that the thread will be reopened when you PM a moderator or abministrator and request it. Two people have asked you if you did so. I am asking you.

Did you PM a Mod or Admin asking that the thread be reopened? When?

Yes I did PM the Mod who closed the thread, about one month after he did it.

I tried following the link to matt marriott's homepage and got led down a rabbit-hole to nowhere. I give up.

It is apparent the guidance computers on ICBM's are very similar to what would be required for the moonshot. I see no reason to suspect that hardware storage and processing of data by the Apollos' computers was inadequate to the task. After all, It wasn't that complex of a problem and the computer was dedicated to a narrow range of tasks.

That is correct. Most hoax believers overlook this comparison with the state-of-the-art back then. In fact, Apollo had an advantage in that, whereas an ICBM flight is over in ~half an hour, the moon-bound spacecraft could fire its engine for a few seconds or minutes and take hours or days to check its trajectory and make corrections as needed.

The Minuteman 2 missile used a guidance system incorporating a digital computer very much like the Apollo computer, using early integrated circuits and programmed in much the same way. Far from being a maverick, the AGC was an example of and evolution from the same sort of embedded computer that was already being used for similar applications. Eldon Hall's book contains a very detailed account of the evolution of the Apollo guidance system from contemporary and prior ICBM systems.
