Hi! my first post to this website!
anyway, ive noticed a few of the posters at this site are aussies, and may or may not have posted this, but anyway... on tuesday this week, SBS (tv station here in australia) played an interesting documentry titled "Dark Side Of The Moon". it showed interviews with high ranking US government officials such as Donald Rumsfeld and Henry Kessenger detailing how, during the Nixon years, the moon landing videos couldnt be broadcasted from the moon. so they decided to fake the videos, but they only had two weeks to do it in! they couldnt set the sets up in time, but 2001: a space oddessy was wrapping up production in england, so why not use their sets? and while we're at it, we'll let Stanley Kubrick direct the thing. the documentry was fairly convincing, using actual government officials was one of the key elements in this documentry. there was no mention that the moon landings didnt take place, just that the videos were fake. anyway, i was getting really confused by the whole thing until the end of the show, when it showed outtakes of the interviews. it was all scripted! it also had a disclaimer at the end of it! then it all fall into place, April first! anyway, SBS showed this documentry after two other networks showed the FOX documentry (die! die! die!) and another with the aussie 60 minutes moon landing story (the interviewer making bart look like an idiot, and some other couk saying that NASA is covering up a lost civilisation on the moon) well, thanks for your time, guys!

One would like to think that this "mockumentary" is a sign that more people are seeing the moon hoax story as ridiculous enough that it's safe to present a tongue in cheek program like this without fueling the hoax itself. But it sounds like we're not there yet.

Hi Jethed. I already posted something about it myself a little while ago. You can read it here:
http://www.badastronomy.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=4123 Unfortunately the station that aired it here apparently took the program seriously. It was only after I visited BA and wrote up my post that people told me it was actually a parody. Well, read through the thread if you like, I'm sure you'll find it interesting ![]() |

Hi,
I watched that "Dark Side of the Moon" program too. But my question concerns that beautiful painting that was shown at the start of the documentary in which it was commented that Kubrick loved the paintings of the 18th century period. BUT they don't mention the title or painter of the painting they showed not even in the credits I believe. So if anybody knows the details about the painting shown I would appreciate it if you post a reply asap. Thanks BG |
