Default A thought

This has just occured to me.
Do you think either Bill Kaysing or Bart Sibrel has seen the movie "Apollo 13"? What does Tom Hanks think of them?

Dunno about Tom Hanks, but Jim Lovell called Kaysing a nut case.

Kaysing sued.

A recall an article shortly after September 9th, I think by CNN, in which Ron Howard and Tom Hanks condemned the Conspiracy Theory of the Apollohoax.

Thanks Glom.
At least I know Ron and Tom are in the majority.

An interesting aside: Bill Kaysing has claimed that the movie Capricorn One was based on his book, his idea for a hoaxed moon landing. Of course the producers of Capricorn One do not give him writing credit. And the ease with which Kaysing could sue them if his claims were correct suggests they do not recognize his claim. Authorship in Hollywood is a big deal.

Although the film was released in 1978, three years after Kaysing's book, Peter Hyams actually wrote it in the early 1970s. He unsuccessfully pitched the idea to several studios, who thought the premise was too farfetched. It wasn't until after Watergate that studios thought the idea of a wide-ranging government coverup would make a successful movie.

In other words, Bill Kaysing is once again lying through his teeth.

Articles about Kaysing suing Lovell:

Go here for some information on Kaysing. (This is a reputable, anti-hoax site that links to BA).

I remember reading somewhere that Kaysing thought that even though he wrote his book after the copyright date of the script, the authors of the script for the movie actually falsified the date by putting it several years before, so they could copy Kaysing's work.

Kaysing also believes that we bribed Canada or Japan to bomb Pearl Harbor to bring us into World War II, that all of the astronauts who have died, including Jim Irwin, the Apollo 1 crew, the Challenger crew, Pete Conrad, (I don't know if he implicates the Columbia crew also) were killed by NASA (Challenger because Christa McAullife was going to tell the world that you can see stars from space). Also, the USSR was in with us on the hoax. Sure was nice of them to let us win.
