Default Colonel Philip J Corso

Someone sent me this link on an Art Bell interview with Colonel Corso.

http://video.google.ca/videoplay?doc...81467&hl=en-CA

Yes, it is long, I know. I just briefly skimmed it. It is a mixture of cold war facts, and then incredible statements interjected in between.

What I don't get is, what makes a person like Colonel Corso, who has quite a background in the army, write a book like "The Day after Roswell" in which he claims, among other things, that he actually saw an alien body?

Also the silly claims that he was in charge of alien technology and that fiber optics, lasers, etc were products of reverse engineering from the Roswell crash.

"American Army Lieutenant Colonel, who was a member of President Eisenhower's National Security Council for four years, and was Chief of the Pentagon's Foreign Technology desk in Army Research and Development in 1961".

Seems too much of a reputation and background to ruin.

Why put a career like this in risk ? For selling books...?

Sorry for my english.

If he was active during Ike's presidency, then he's very likely retired now -- it's been 45 years. His career now is probably writing alien-adventure stories and appearing on talk shows.

There may be many reasons for his doing this. My bet is money.

Wasn't there a similar claim made for the Majestic 12, that they were in charge of reverse-engineering tech from Roswell, such as fiber optics, silicon chips, etc...?

I believe Corso even claimed to have been a member of Majestic 12...

Maybe having done top secret work for most of his life and not being able to talk about it, he finally wanted recognition, and soon noticed that telling Roswell whoopers was the best way to get in the spotlight? BTW: he fooled astronaut Dr. Edgar Mitchell who apparently spoke to him and believes him...

IIRC, I got a copy of this from the library and started reading, and was not impressed. Mr Corso apparently believed the war in Tunisia was over in 1942, which is not a good start. He then goes on to make allegations about retro-engineering all sorts of gadgets thanks to Roswell technology, despite the paper/invention trail that proves such kit was *merely* human. Again, IIRC, the book was actually ghostwritten and for whatever reason the ghostwriter got nearly all the profits, leaving Mr Corso with a <ahem> reputation and not much in the way of $$$.
