After extensive and Accurate analysis- i conclude in my Expert opinion that the evidence suggests that this photo is genuine. The object in question was Obviously misplaced on the moon after travelling through the Bermuda Triangle.

I have seen two things that almost got me going
as regards a hoax. One was some video of the
three Apollo 13 chaps in the spacecraft when
the camera pans! I presume it was a NASA
re-enactment of the event for some kind of
documentary. Secondly was video of one of the
lunar rover excursions where the background
was the same as a previous eva. I had a very
hazy 33 year old recollection of the
explorers going back to a site on the
last outing in one of the last missions.

What's impressive is the way the phase of Earth matches the shadows. NASA sure know how to do a good fakin'. If Jay can be fooled, anyone can.

It's you. One can clearly see blue on the top right corner and red on the rest, though the wrinkles/shadows slightly indicate a Canadian Flag if you squint your eyes and have a lot of imagination.

Well we can't really tell you that unless you can be more specific about the clips you are referring to. However, just off the top of my head:

Film was also taken of training and simulations, therefore it is possible the video or film you saw was taken by somoene else. Alternatively, it is also possible to get all three crewmen in shot by the simple method of holding the camera at arm's length and pointing it back at yourself. There was no viewfinder on the camera, and no requirement for the operator to be behind it in order for it to work (any more than there had to be somone sitting behind the rover TV camera). I'll have a quick look at my Apollo 13 DVD from Spacecraft Films and see what I can find.

As for the rover footage, there is very little video of the rover in motion, since it was broadcast via the antenna on the rover and thus could only be received and recorded when the antenna was pointed at Earth. This did allow for a little video while the rover was travelling in a straight line, but nothing extensive. Most of the footage of the rover in motion was captured on 16mm film, and hence was not seen by anyone until well after the astronauts returned. It is therefore probable that you saw the footage in a documentary made after the event and that they simply spliced in the same footage twice for artistic purposes.

I suggest using a monitor calibration website. There are tracks.

Quite an impressive "Russian spaceship"!

I like this cg picture, it's quite impressive. He overstressed the perspective in the footprints a bit and there's a too clear black cutout around the earth (in front of the stars), but other than that, really nicely done.

But...if that ship is Russian and the astronauts American, how did they get there?

Thanks Jason. My brother cannot remember which
hoax show he was showing me but you are
probably right about a pre flight film of the
Apollo 13 crew. The Lunar Rover stuff was
actual video from the mounted camera as sent
back to Earth. The show superimposed one bit
on another to show the same rocks on the
surface in the background. As I say the
astronauts went back to a previous spot
as far as I remember. It could even have been
the same parking space outside the LEM I
suppose

Yes, they had to keep parking in the same spot. All the other parking places on the Moon were full.
