One of the ingredients for a good juicy conspiracy, involving aliens or not or is a good, improbable coincidence.
As the average "believer" will tell you, if pieces of "debris" "choose" to pass by the shuttle at just the right time to be caught on the cameras recording a experiment, or if something funny happens to a candy bar's wrapping right after someone asks for a sign from the "Zetas", there must be someone or something behind it. Well, if that is so then I have received proof from our alien friends that his noodliness, the Flying Spaghetti Monster is real and shall be our salvation from the menace of menace of global warming. Ok, here's what happened, yesterday I decided to buy myself a game for my PC, I was looking at the shelves and I was unsure between 2 alternatives before going with Anno 1701, which looks a bit like the hidden love child of Caesar and Colonization... So, I walked out of the store with a game that features sailing ships, a sort of "caribeanish" archipelago as a background and pirates... I went home, had dinner, read this forum, and later on the evening I turn on the T.V., and ... "Captain Blood" is on, with Errol Flynn, Olivia de Havilland, and of course, plenty of extras dressed as pirates! After the movie is over, I switch channels and what do I find on the History channel? A documentary about the lost colony of Roanoke! Ok, so my shopping and the programing of 2 different T.V. channels are working together to send us a message "Galleons! Pirates! Colonies!", but why? Well, if something managed to control my mind and the staff of those T.V. channels, it must be something with powers far beyond our own, like the (in)famous "Zetas". But why would benevolent and powerful aliens send us messages about galleons and pirates? It doesn't make any sense, unless it is somehow related to something important, like... Global warming! It's important, it's on the news, it has been on rise as the numbers of pirates go down! So there you go, the Zetans want us to convert to the Pastafarian faith! ![]() And they have picked a very special prophet to lead us (no , not me), but I will leave that for later... On the other hand, perhaps it was just a funny coincidence and I managed to turn it into "snake oil" material with some imagination and free time... ![]() |

No, the Zetans where a bit more original with their choice...
You see, before I bought that game I tried to download the demo for another one, "Supreme Commander", but my internet connection went down and I decided to try again later. So, while I was thinking about the first post in the thread, I tried again, and so the download was done just as I was typing a post about a Zetan message, coincidence? ![]() So, now I had a second message, "Supreme Commander"... It came disguised as a game title, so it must be related to games somehow... Well, Derek Smart (the Battlecruiser 3000AD guy) uses "Supreme Commander" as a nickname in his forums, and he has a reputation for being a bit eccentric and controversial. A improbable messiah for our strange new faith! Everything fits together perfectly, don't you see? ![]() |

In regards to the subject matter, I could imagine the message might be "All your base belongs to us."
