I really recommend that you do that. You obviously don't care about the rules of anyone else's board and you seem to resent them too. Go make your own board and you can be king of the roost and say whatever you like without anyone deleting your wisdom. But while you are on somebody else's board you have to follow their rules, whether you like it or not. That's just the way it is. Oh and it's polite too.

A) Have you tried either signing up again or contacting the admin (tip, be polite, calling people "chicken necked <removed>" and suchlike is not going to get anything productive done), computer glitches do sometimes happen it may be that you triggered the anti-spam system somehow or the database glitched.
B) I don't see you over on ApolloHoax.net, as has been pointed out September 11th discussion is fine over there and its generally much harder to get banned from there than here.
Been there, done that, went round and round in circles with your lot brining up the same points over and over again no matter how often they were debunked. You should try using the search function (upper right hand corner of your screen), you will find lots of long threads about September 11th from before it was decided to limit the topics.

We have a policy on what is and is not an allowable topic for discussion here. You should read it.

You should also read the Rules for Posting. This is a violation of Rule 2 Civility and Decorum.

I have no intention of removing your post. It makes for a very nice and referrable "paper" trail.

However, speculating on what actions a Mod may take is a violation of Rule 16.

BAUT policy allows for some very heated discussions... as long as the Rules for Posting are followed.

If you want to come to BAUT and complain about your treatment on another BB, that's allowed; several of our Members have done so.

However, being insulting, calling them names, and using inappropriate language - ranting - without saying anything constructive is a violation of Rule 2 and a waste of the forum.

This thread was started to discuss the motives of CTists in general. Discuss them, not their "theories."

That's what roscoe seems to be missing. The thread was started, or at least taken up under the topic of why people believe in conspiracy theories, which includes people who believe in space and astronomy related conspiracy theories. Indeed it includes non-astronomy conspiracies as well, and those have been alluded to. But the thread is not discussing individual theories, or why people believe X conspiracy or Y conspiracy, but rather the phenomenon as a whole.

Maybe there's no broad reason why people are taken to conspiracies...that's certainly an opinion that has been expressed. Some of us, myself included, feel there is at least a certain underpinning based somewhere other than interest in whichever event that allows people to be more susceptible to conspiracist angles.

Roscoe seems to feel his posts are being picked on because of who he is, rather than what his posts are about. As Jim has officially stated, this [forum] is not the place to discuss any particular non-astronomy theory, and this thread is not meant for any particular theory, but as a discussion of conspiracism as a whole.

I think Noam Chomsky had something to say about allowing heated arguments within a carefully constructed envelope.

I've seen the arguments there get extremely heated. (And, yes, I also note that Chomsky rejects the government-did-it 9/11 conspiracy claims.)

Discussions outside the envelope get censored immediately. Like here really.

Aside from deletion of profanity, the posts at JREF are not censored. The nastiest threads get moved to the "Abandon All Hope" forum. Even the posts of banned users are not deleted.

Nor are they deleted here - like your posts are not deleted. But this is a board with rules in place to ensure reasonably civil dialog, and with rules restricting conspiracy discussions to space-related topics. It's simple enough. If you want to discuss other conspiracies, there are plenty of pro- and anti- sites out there for you.

How about everyone having a go at Conspiracy theorists in general on here? (Can we include the Boxcutter conspiracy theorists) No don't tell me they only live in space? Your hypocrisy is showing old boy.

Nothing to do with hypocrisy; it's a simple matter of abiding by the rules of this particular forum. I'll be happy to talk about on-topic - i.e., space-related - conspiracy claims here, based on my experience as an aerospace engineer.

I have to a more limited extent discussed 9/11 conspiracy claims in forums (JREF and apollohoax) where such discussions are allowed, though most such participation is limited to aspects related to firefighting. If you are unwilling to try fixing your registration issues at JREF, you should sign up at apollohoax - many of the regulars here are over there as well.

ETA: Sorry for discussing other forums here, but roscoe made some testable claims about the JREF forums, and I was responding to them. In any case, I'll refrain from further discussion along such lines; I know they're off-topic for this forum.

It has been made very clear to you that BAUT is not the place to go if you want to discuss religion or politics or non-space-related conspiracy theories; it is also not the place to go to if you want to call people names.

Furthermore, you have been invited to take your discussion to a place where it is allowed.

We are guests on this site. We have had the rules clearly defined for us; we know that if we don't like them, we can go somewhere else.

As a guest, you have the option to work around the rules to have your say. You could, for instance, have said, "I know 9/11 discussion isn't allowed here, but if you come over to [another site] you might be interested in what I have to say."

Instead, you just moan, and complain about moderators, almost as if they are conspiring against you.

It does seem to be a recurring theme in the CT and ATM forums. Especially inappropriate self-comparisons to Galileo.

For that matter, there's also the many CT groups over the years who seem to have nothing better to do than send their neophytes over here for their martyr badges, one after the other, which apparently passes for street cred among that crowd. They should at least try for a little subtlety once in a while. For the novelty if nothing else.
