Default Felix the 5--Man made Hurricane?

Now that Felix is now a category 5 hurricane (as of 10:00PM Eastern daylight savings time, 9-2-07), I wonder how it's rapid development may be characterized by the CTs. I'm sure Hoagland or Stevens or others will try to make hay of the seemingly weird (a television meteorologist's word) rapid intensification.

I hope this doesn't get locked because it may seem OT. Because Hoagland seems to think "Hyperdimensional" tomfoolery is involved in weather manipulation and also credits this phenomena with all manner of space occurances, I think it is germane and related to space CT discussion.

Any bets on who claims Felix the Cat (5) is a man-made storm?

i thought that cat 5 hurricanes that develop fast and hit heavily populated areas were sent down from Above as a penalty for all the sinners that live in that country/state/island..

That's just tornadoes.

A fellow at work seriously believes that whereas hurricanes are natural events, tornadoes are sent by god to get certain people. For example, that infant in Olmstead County must have been a bad, bad baby.

I wonder when that millionaire (I don't recall his name) will show up again with his proposal for dumping something on Felix to make it break apart?

I tuned into Larry King expecting to see him and a cadre of hurricane CTers, but Mr. King was busy swallowing what his guests were extruding about a place called Roswell. Those guests included George Noory and Stanton Friedman.

It is interesting that the hurricane developed so quickly especially considering that on, Friday I think it was, it wasn't even a named storm. That being said, I took a look at a few things (I tried to find a visible satellite image of Felix at 1:45 am, go me!) and it isn't hard to see how it would have gained strength so quickly with sea surface temperatures in the high 80s along with the fact that it is just about the only disturbance of any time in the Caribbean. Though I couldn't find a good streamline map and you may want to check the SST maps yourself, cause I'm a colorblind person looking at a color-coded map. Out of the ordinary? Perhaps. Supernatural? No sir.

and they do say it pretty much every time a hurricane hits a population center- all those elderly people that have retired to trailer houses in Florida must have lived some sinful lives for all the times they get "smitten".

I don't pay any attention to the big name televangelists. There's this one guy at work who claims he has The Truth™ and since he says it's true, that's all I need to know.

Re Felix being "manufactured", we'll probably first read about it here.

Man made? Sure, after all it formed off the Venezuelan coast. Mr Chavez must be running some secret experiment...

The Caribbean is (was) warm and Felix hit an even warmer eddy just as it was strengthening into a hurricane. It set a record for going from a Tropical Storm to a Cat 5: 51 hours.

It's amazing how many people OVERESTIMATE the power that Man has....

If we had the power to manipulate hurricanes, we wouldn't have billion$$ in damage on the Florida, Gulf and Texas coastlines every year. (As one of the Florida people who got hit with 4 of 'em in the past couple of years, my first reaction is that IF we could affect hurricanes, the insurance companies here would be the FIRST to demand that we send 'em someplace else...)

But the tin-foil-hatters have no need for logic.

Not gona happen. Felix is dying very quickly and heading almost directly west, while Henriette is moving to the north-northeast. By the time Felix crosses Central America and reaches the Pacific Ocean it won't be much more than a refreshing breeze [/hyperbole]. Henriette will also be a Tropical Storm by this time tomorrow. They're too far apart, Felix is moving too slowly to catch up with Henriette, and they're both so weak at this point that, if they did merge, there'll be nothing left of either by the time they would.

Who are these people of which there are a lot?

BTW, based on the context, the word is "harping" as opposed to the familiar, overused CTism.

Hurricanes can be seen from space, does that count?

Anyway, nothing against the OP or tbm, but I don't particularly like the "will this be a conspiracy?" threads. Refuting a claim that has yet to be seriously put forth is counterproductive. We could just as easily say, "Could the disappearing bees be blamed on NASA?" Any given CT'er on any given day *could* say anything. Doesn't mean it's worth discussing.

I do believe SLF:JAQ SFDJS [mis]used that term intentionally. It's a reference to the idea that HAARP can be used to affect weather and create hurricanes. It's one of them "pune" thingies. YMMV.

I remember in school once that the teacher said the same thing about Hurricane Andrew. Wasn't a public school, BTW.

I do see this as branching away from science/astronomy. Perhaps a move in this thread?

No offense taken. Given Hoagland's propensity to take credit for other's toils and that he has made claims of hurricane control, I wanted to be in on the ground floor in case he did so with Felix.

Mark my words, he or Scott Stevens will be all over the next hurricane that end up damaging oil production in the Gulf of Mexico.

Seeing the title of this thread makes me wonder;

Is "Felix the 5-Man Made Hurricane" anything like Nestor the Long Eared Donkey?
