Exclamation This is how people spot UFOs

The other day I was on the roof snapping away pictures of the sunset. The sun was slowly leaning towards the west and the beautiful clouds were reflecting the golden rays of the setting sun. One of the pictures that I took was this.

Its a big post with lots of pictures. Read it from the blog.

Yes, that's one of the ways people spot UFOs. My money's on yours being a bird.

BTW, I'm one of the little running specks in your frame from Independence Day. The location for "Area 51" was the former Wendover Air Force Base on the Utah-Nevada border. It serves as the airport for Wendover, NV and has luxuriously long, wide, flat runways (for dunces like me).

I assume you didn't need the wig to play a role in Independence Day?

Here's a way the Lick Observatory recorded a UFO on its webcam (just spotted while I was checking out the Mt. Hamilton Hamcams for pictures of the Lick Fire):

Mystery Craft Baffles Scientists

Quote:
Astronomers at the University of California's Lick Observatory remain guarded in their comments regarding the second day of sightings of a mysterious metallic disk, seen hovering near the summit of the remote mountaintop facility.
"This could be the discovery of the millenium," said former Director E. S. Holden, "or it could just be a hubcap." "We're not ruling anything out," he added.
From gallery.

I like Bill Pullman (Spaceballs anyone?), but Jay in that wig as the modern-day US Pres would have been good too.

a) The object looks like an ashtray to me. Sort of.

b) The object appears to be at a much higher dpi (another way of saying resolution) than its background.

I shall remain calm.

Quote:
Among the unexplained aspects of the apparition include a stick-like structure which appears near the top of some of the frames, and a material on the underside of the craft, which, to the untrained eye resembles duct tape.

"Whatever its nature and origin, its intentions appear friendly," said Holden, in answer to unsubstantiated rumors that several members of the mountain staff had failed to appear for work this morning. "We have the situation under control," he insisted. "Members of the public should remain calm until further notice."
It was from a long time ago, from way back in 2003... April... beginning of the month.

At that distance you don't even need pants.

And it's the perfect place for organized (SCCA) car racing, of which I did much when I lived there, it being only a 2 hour drive from Ogden in my old '94 Mustang Cobra Oh, plus the obligatory gambling and dinner at the Stateline Casino afterward...
