HA!

So it's true, we did bring back alien antigravity technology from the Moon.

The woowoos were right after all!

I wonder which kind of problems such amount of static electricity would cause to the electronics. Would be grounding effective on the moom?

I think so. Long as you have a circuit, you shouldn't have a static problem.

There is an excellant response to that question somewhere on baut about that and to why the static wouldn't effect the LM even though the LMs cabin is 100% pure oxygen environment.

If you're referring to the possibility of a spark causing a fire a la Apollo 1, the LM oxygen pressure was less than 5 psi, which is only a bit higher than the ~3 psi partial pressure you're sitting in right now. Assuming that there was anything flammable in the LM, a flame would burn hotter & brighter, but it would be nothing like the inferno of Apollo 1, which was pressurized with 16 psi of pure oxygen.

On the electrostatic theory. I am no expert on electrostatics, but doesn't radiation tend to dispell a static charge? Thats what I read anyways, in a variety of articles that had nothing to do with the moon landing. And if the astronaut is building up a charge from moon dust 'carpit scuffing' wouldn't that be dangerous in that when he flips a switch in the LM it might cause problems?

I have just been perusing the pictures and film. To my untrained eye and taking into account what is required to have a flag on a set and and the host of problems that would entail, I vote for the flag getting hit by an arm. I would also ask if anyone has replicated it and wonder how fast you need to move past it to waft it around and to get it to move as if it is in a vacuum. Which it is of course.

Apollo 15 also has the genesis rock in its arsenal of proof, not forgetting the other rocks. Don't want them to feel left out. Quite a find. Not the sort of find on every street corner if you look under the rubbish.

This is David Blaines first appearance. Between you and me it is a fine thread! Sometimes you can clearly hear David saying "it's not moving is it? ,, it is now!'

I would imagine the flags today are unrecognizable due to the sun's abilitity to bleach it white.

They would be long past bleached by now, decades of unfiltered UV from the Sun will have turned them into dust.
