I will say that I found it ammusing to have a CT'er who opposes both BAUT and RCH. I doubt you see that very often, except with people who are competing to sell their "truthiness" against Hoagland's.

And I'll also say, I loved the repeaded (edit: "repeated". see, I did lose IQ, and I don't have much to spare) use of the term "Super Hoagie", but mostly because, as I stated earlier, I love food.

I must admit I got to about page 5 and then fast forwarded to here. So apologies to all those posters.

I, myself was involved in this Face debacle at one point. I've seen it ruin people's life's and set man against man. It's sick.

Who started all this ?

I suggest you view this youtube video. It's humorous if you need a laugh after all that. In my humble opinion it explains what's going on. Replace the "Hexagon" with the Face and you have your answer. Not exactly Forensic Science, but I think it works .

Yep! I go away on buisness and miss MR's return.....

....and nothing changed!

Good lord this thread has been quite the read. I for one agree with Jay, MR is going to need one HECK of an Editor for that book of his.

I'm willing to bet he goes through a few before he finds one desperate enough to take up such a challenge. Some of his posts were a fine example of why staying in school is the rule

Anyway...wow

Kudos to anyone who had the patience/desire to read through all of that ....stuff. I, for one, did not. My scroll button was used a lot, and I couldn't believe how long it would take to get to the end of the posts

As JayUtah said, MR was affecting that particular 'ignoramus' style of writing. Reading through this thread, I get the feeling that this entire thing is just one huge juvenile prank; I don't think MR was serious about a single bloody thing he wrote.

I personally think he affects his "youz" style on purpose, to try to set up a difference in prose between his imaginary "expert" and himself. "We have completely different styles, see?" Simply more illusions

I think the Hoaglund bit was merely a swerve, as it became obvious that he was a huckster - "Hey, I'm on YOUR side! This is all Hoaglund's fault! Let's pile on him together!" Just a weak attempt at a handwave.

As an aside - From his posts, it sounds like he contacted Richard Hoaglund, and RH told him to bug off. You know you're in for an uphill battle if even RH thinks your "Martian (insert objects here)" theories are crackpottery, and rejects you

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I imagine that even Hoagland would "grudgingly" conceed that the HIRES images of the "face", don't look much like a face*...MR couldn't even do that.

* though that doesn't stop him from making all sorts of other, unsubstantiated statements.

You know, MarsRevealer backwards is Relaeversram!

And using the Anagram Server, you can find lots of anagrams of MarsRevealer, including:

Alarm Reserve
Eraser Marvel
Lama Sever Err
Lava Mere Errs
Reversal Am Re
Laser Ram Ever
Rearm La Verse
Ear Mars Lever
Rave Ram Reels
La Mars Revere

Ok, it makes as much sense as anything MR said.

Reading those long rants in the correct order gave me an aneurysm. I still have a bottle of aspirin sitting on my desk, no lie.

Just to be serious for a moment, but since aspirn is a blood thinner, you do realise that if you had a real aneurysm, asprin would be the very last thing you would want to be taking for it.

Now back to you regular irreverant mocking.

Well, I was thinking of my headache (I'm not seriously saying MR's posts caused it, but I did have one and it certainly didn't help) with the aspirin. I normally don't take any medication, but after three days this one managed to wear me down.
It was that kind where when you lie down and try to sleep, your eyes actually water like streams. Had anyone seen me that would have thought I was crying.

I was ignorant of that. I had thought an aneurysm was a blood clot on the brain.

Well, IIRC theres two typis of aneurysms; one where a clot stops blood flow to the brain, and one where the vein bursts. Of the two, unless I'm mistaken, the second is the one that is most dangerous, although personally I'd rather not have blood flow to my brain stop for either reason.

Edit: Bah, couldn't stop it once I hit submit. Now that I think about it further, I think the first one (the clot) is what a stroke is, isn't it?

I still want to say there's two different types of anuerisyms...of course, now I'm probably confusing that and embolism. I guess there's a reason Md's have so much schooling...

edit again: ...that and they can consistantly spell these darned things.

Okay, got a renewed degree from the Uni of Wikipedia.
I was right about the aneurysm, as it's a weakining and buldging of a blood vessle that may lead to a burst. Pray that the buldge is found before the burst, or that you're happy with the life you lead.

An embolism is more related to stroke, in that it's just a clot that originated one place, then migrated to another to cause the stoppage.

And most of you probably new this already, but now I know. And knowing is half the battle. GO JOE!

Two types of strokes, by which areas of the brain are deprived of bloodflow: blocking and leaking. Now, let me look up the technical...

Stroke Association

Blockage is called ischemic and has two prime causes, embolisms (clot that traveled there) and thrombosis (clot in place); the leaking is called hemorrhagic.

(And, if it hasn't been covered, an aneurysm is a ballooning of a weakened region of a blood vessel. If the vessel leaks, and it's in the brain, it would be a hemorrhagic stroke.)

Edit: And it looks like Fazor's been about the Net, too. I'll leave it. Good stuff for everyone to know. Significant damage can be prevented with quick treatment -- and we need our brains. Most of us anyway.

Yes, using a blood thinner when you have a aneurysm can lead to it leaking and thus a herorrhgic stroke. If it bursts, well all that is useful to you in that case is a pine box. Of course people can live without a brain, and many don't use a lot of theirs. The heart is a far more vital organ.
