Yeah, talk about your self-fulfilling prophecies. Maybe you should think of changing avatars again?

I'm sorry to hear you've been sick, Mak! I hope you feel better soon.

Don't want anything happening to my friend Mak. Take it easy and drink some tea.

Hope you're up and around soon, Mak. Hey, at least you can still use a keyboard, so you can still come here and be mildly entertained. Pain is just one of those things we learn to live with, but I hope you'll feel better.

Yeah, I was disappointed when I saw that. I guess we'll have to make do.

This thread was my first taste of "action" against a woo-woo. Since we're making small talk anyway, did I do a good job?

No, I'm a mean teaser

I'm reminded of the "tough but fair" argument. In this argument, you treat your oponent with polite fairness unless they wrong you in some way. You then give back as they do you (politely) but go back to being "fair" as the default. You maintain this, each time giving back as recieved and defaulting to the nice and fair.

It is a technique that builds over time- causing nice guys to finish first

This applies to how you handled MR, You were polite, welcoming and fair. You gave back as good as you got, but defaulted to fair. So I would say you did well

Thank you, Neverfly. I'm not good at being mean, anyway.

Of course, by then the universe will have grown cold, and she'll have nobody to be mean to.
(Which is why I must show her how it's done first. )

The ice in your words is what's causing it to grow cold

Thanks. Doing the best I can with what I've got. Always good to have a pulse!

BTW, in your previous avatar, was that you? I'm not sure what your current avatar is all about, but then, my eyes are really bad.

You need to wear your glasses Mak.

My previous avatar isn't me.

I just took it from the net ,"A woman in the rain".
