There is no one overriding purpose, although the general theme is astronomy and science.
The Conspiracy Theories section in which you've posted is for people to post astronomy- and space-related conspiracy theories (either theirs or others they've come across) and debate their merits. The best way to understand that particular purpose is to read a few of the recent threads.

Although Space and Astronomy are the overall theme, the purpose of the forum tends to be which one you are in, for example Conspiracy Theories, or Life in Space. Make sure you stop by the AboutBAUT forum and read up on the rules (we're stricter than most forums), and above all, make sure you have fun, and learn along the way! Feel free to contribute wherever you feel drawn!
