Default BA Blog: The worm, turned

In a forum far, far away...

In topic Worms on Mars:

Quote:
Any opinions as to what the "worms" on Mars are? Please see WEB page: "http://www.enterprisemission.com/can.htm".
I am stumped! A professional Astronomer told me they were sand dunes, for the life of me I can't see sand dunes in the pictures. Richard Hoagland, kind of a kook, says they are tunnels, maybe, but what made them.
And in a painfully longer topic: martian tube perhaps ic[e]? the wrong, tubular perspective was promoted again.

In the latest BA Blog entry, the worm, turned, the BA discusses the Hoagland claims of... uh... worms on Mars, visiting some new high-resolution Mars Reconaissance Orbiter images of similar features.

I dunno, but I would love to see a thousand kilometer long worm.

I, for one, welcome our humongous worm overlords.

Do you think NASA secretly installed a 'thumper' device on either of the rovers?

Shouldn't it be an "anti-thumper?"
Like a "squelcher."

It would not be a good "opportunity" to get the rover eaten.

It was a bad enough blow when the non-existant Beagle 2 rover got squashed by a giant robot in disguise.

It's been a few years since someone has pushed the worms on any board I look at. Oh well, those were the days.

If anything, worms would be on the moon. I know every time I leave hunks of cheese laying out, it develops mold and maggots.

...wait, the moon being made of cheese is still mainstream, right? (edit: Luneburger, of course!)

Wow this brings back memories. One of the first major topics I was involved in on this board was the martian worms.

I remember an interesting dude on another board who was pushing the worm thing big time several years ago. When people disagreed with some of his assertions, he started hurling accusations that people were disagreeing with him because they were biased against the hearing impaired.

I am STILL trying to work out the part about how people knew he was hearing impaired over the internet. Maybe "spooky action at a distance"

From my detective story Museum of Natural Mystery:
"The thief had to be someone in that room. Someone I was looking at. It was a very creepy thought.
I had to get an opportunity-
Opportunity-” Someone next to me said, just them, mirroring my thoughts. I almost jumped clear up to the glass ceiling (And that’s really high up).
“Is exploring Victoria Crater, whereas Spirit is in the Columbia Hills.”
Oh, Opportunity the Mars rover! "
