Default Nibiru - Planet X revisited ?

I was looking up the New Scientist website about that probe that was mistaken for a killer asteroid, being discussed here

On the second page of the comments I read this

Quote:
People should worry about nibiru

but then again the goverment dosnt wanna tell people about it cuz for them the jesuit & illuminati he human race is nothing but cattle

but yea all u have to do is google or youtube NIBIRU

and find out that a jupiter size planet will pass between

jupters and mars orbit and that this can triger a pole shift or one of nibirus moons can send a asteroid towards earth. Well dont belive everything u hear and find out things urself
Is this planet X and why has nobody challenged this guy who made this comment. He left a link to a myspace site, which seems one long rant.

I looked this up on about.com, and it was all supposed to have happened in the spring of 2003. Did I miss something?

[telephone operator voice] We're sorry, due to the recent demotion of Pluto to a "dwarf planet", Planet X is now known as Planet IX. [/telephone operator voice]

AFAIK, Nibiru and Planet-X are the same thing. Even if they aren't, the names are often used interchangably.

As for the 2003 (non)incident, your post has triggered bad memories involving Starburst candies, dead dogs, and something about bobbling. I'd rather keep the whole thing repressed.

That's probably why no-one has challenged the comment. Most CTBs simply want to rant for ranting's sake and can't have sense talked into them. You can't argue logic with an illogical person.

That's right. The world ended four years ago and you didn't even notice!

"one of nibirus moons can send a asteroid towards earth."

How does a moon "send" a[n] asteroid towards [E]arth? Does it lob it like a brick towards a window?

First it has to find an asteroid with the right "heft". It checks the runners on base. Then comes the windup, and the pitch...

If you can't find one, catch a comet and cut off its tail.

It's odd that it's the Jesuits blamed. Don't these people usually blame the Jews?

You see, when nothing actually happened in May of 2003, despite the grave "Planet X" events foretold in predictions by those wacky Zeta Reticulians through their innocent mouthpiece, Nancy Leider, they let us in on a little secret...

They lied.

Yes, yes, the pole shifting, the earthquakes, the floods, the martial law. It was all just a tiny little white lie. To protect us. Yeah, that's it.

You can find some "explanation" on Nancy's site, here and here.
WARNING: Reading through this site can be PAINFUL.

Oh, to be sure, Planet X still arrived in May of 2003 -- we just can't see it and it's cataclysmic effects are not yet in full force.

Astonishingly, those zany Zetas refuse to predict any future for these events. To their credit, however, they claim to be really sorry for making Nancy look silly.

Well, this does confirm one thing I have often wondered about: are these people really this idiotic? Or are they bald faced liars?

The latter, by their own admission.

I think you should have made that warning larger than the rest of the text, not smaller lol. It wasn't just painful, it wasn't just the worst excuse for a lie I've ever seen, it wasn't even just a grave miscarriage of astronomy, it was an abomination of everything it means to be a rational thinking human being.

Okay, this is against all rules, but... the Zetas do not exist!
How do I know? It's my job to know. I'm a member of the Galactic Anthroplogy Corps, and I know about all spacefaring civilzations in the Galaxy, even you humans, the newest one to be discovered.
Keep on trucking, you are making excellent progress.

My apologies! The bbcode font sizes only go up to "7" though, so I really couldn't have sized the warning proportional to the excruciating experience of ZetaTalk. The Skeptical Mind has a nice send-up of that mess here, by the way.

I must say, KaiYeves, your nonexistent Zetas have certainly built quite a grandiose world for Nancy. Still, it's heartening to see that her following seems to have levelled-off a bit, but some of those sticking by her are among the most rabid CTers out there.

There are still people sticking by Nancy the Nut four years after the non-arrival of Planet (I)X? Say it isn't so!

The Jesuits are secretly connected to the Knights Templar, don't you know. All part of the fun game of "Wheel of Conspiracies!"

Far be it from me to draw any rational conclusion from anything going on at GLP, but she does seem to still have a following. She is, interestingly, facing much more derision there than years ago.

But Nancy still often holds court there and her regulars ask for Zetan clarification on everything from Steve Fossett's well-being to US politics and economics to sex in the future.

Well, the two words sound alike, and in the wild, wild world of wacky conspiracy theories, that's not just guilt by phonetic association, that's prima facie evidence that they're members of the same secret society.

Taken to its "logical" limit, this means eventually the CTer will suspect everyone in the world except one. Somewhere prior to or after the donning of the straight jacket, the suspicion becomes all-encompassing.

Meanwhile reality continues along its actual path, not really noticing any of the above.

Heck, I can figure that out with no help from anybody. He's passed away, they'll still be scandals, I still won't get economics, and it will still be rated R.

Seriously, "nibiru" sounds like something you'd see a street vendor selling in New York.

"What do you have?"

"Nibiru! You buy or go away!"

"Okay, okay, I'll try it. And a Coke."

I had a weird experience the other day.

I was talking to my brother, who is nine, and he was mentioning a conversation he had with our father, with whom I have not spoken in some time.

Anyway, he was asking his father about god, and what he believed in, and he gave him the whole spiel about Sumerian gods, and Nibiru and Zecharia Sitchin.

I used to think Sitchin's ideas were, at least, interesting bits of speculation.

Watching them shift from something with at least the appearance of scholarship to an unquestioning fundamentalist religion, and not a particularly inspired one, is disheartening.

...That's really depressing.

I'm so used to thinking of these wackos (when I think of them at all) as "harmless" nuts, that I guess I never thought of just how much harm they can really do to kids who don't know better. It must be like growing up with your potential for critical thinking hamstrung and atrophied.
