The answer

EDIT: Basically, the mountain doesn't get bigger. The crops are done in different sizes.

Thanks, I did find that actually, but I'm looking for an example of this affect on Earth.

It's not a natural effect; it's a manipulated photo. Take two pictures of anything. Shrink one. Cut out a piece of the larger one that's equal to the size of the shrunken one. Don't tell anyone what you've done. Then complain that the sizes of objects in the pictures are "inconsistent."

You can pull that same stunt with pictures of anything, on any planet.

It's not an effect that happens "on Earth" or "on the Moon". It's a photographical effect that has nothing to do with location, only with photograph sizes. You don't even need two pictures to get this. You could take any picture, make two different sized crops out of it, and you'd have the exact same effect.

Yes I understand it's a manipulated photo. I'm wanting a manipulated photo of a mountain on Earth or something like that to demonstrate this effect. Either that or I should just stop arguing with this nut.

Easy enough. I took this photograph I Googled up in about 10 seconds. I then made two crops of its top. The size of the mountain is different in each of the two crops.

(Original image on top, two crops on bottom.)

And that's it.

There was a thread at Apollohoax where I took some pictures of a penguin against a mountain backdrop, but I have chronic problems with the search function there. I did some cropping and resizing to mimic Jack White's shenanigans.

BAUT would like to point that no penguin was hurt or injured during the making of this!

And kids, don't try this at home without your parents permission. Remember, these are professional penguin / parallax photographers!

It's really sad that with Antarctica melting from global warming, penguins are now seen roaming the streets of Utah.

Where that was photographed might qualify even as desert. It's the driveway to the parking lot of my building, which is in a less fertile area of the valley.

Funny you bring that up, because my friends and I watched March of the Penguins on television over the weekend and made the same jokes about penguins and global warming. The Utah version has the penguins marching across the desert to the Great Salt Lake, saying "ow ow ow ow" every step because of the temperature of the desert floor. There's a sort of dance the typical Southwesterner does while, say, going out to the mailbox in bare feet on an August afternoon.

I believe you have identified the origin of the Texas Two-Step.

Just out of observanticlyish(?) interest, could you point us to where this discussion is being held? I promise I won't send Them™ onto anyone (although it would look good on my paycheck...).

Sadly, theflatearthsociety.org I just post there to vent out all my stress from the day, because there are always ridiculous claims. It's funny, because every point you make that proves Earth is round, is answered with (a) conspiracy, (b) aether (c) "you didn't answer my question".
