Default Bart Sibrel has been busy

I just happen to be visiting Bart Sibrel's site and noticed that he has redone his site. He now offers live chat, and the DVD "Was it Only a Paper Moon?" by Jim Collier. Oh and there's lots of advertising.

At the bottom of one of his web pages, there is a link to,

http://moonhoax.us/moonhoax.htm

which contains lots additional links to moon hoax sites (much of its Barts stuff). What's really fun is that someone maintains a moon hoax blog.

Link to Blog

Personally, I think its all Barts work.

Anyway, lots of fresh meat.

Fresh? Reclaimed and processed surely? I doubt there'll be anything actually 'fresh' in there, just the same old rubbish in a new package.

Right, lots of new packaging but no new material. Looks like the last desperate act of a flagging enterprise.

Enterprise? You mean this is a joint venture with Hoagland?

Hey, 'tis the season! I bet Sibrel doesn't believe in Santa, either.

He might believe in a Santa based at the North Pole of Mars, using back-engineered alien technology, with toys made by Elves In Black.

But does he also believe that that Santa is who brings him heaps of coal?

For the last time, it is "Elvis in Black" (Jumpsuit!) That is where he has been hiding all these years....making toys....

Hoagy refutes the Apollo Hoax stuff, does a pretty good job too. His reason is that such insane conspriacies such as Apollo having been a hoax cause people to doubt "real" conspriacies like his.

More practically, Hoagland's theory that NASA is hiding evidence of alien construction on the Moon sort of requires that astronauts were actually there. The Apollo record must be valid in order for his theory to hold.

No, I intend "enterprise" in Sibrel's case to be as lower-case an e as possible.

Not to get too off track here, but when I heard the finale would have riker and troi, I was really really hoping it would show us the Titan. Having fat/old Jonathan Frakes in the old uniform was just... wrong.

Oh my, did you all see/hear the "reverse speech analysis" from his site.
As deep as he's digging, he should hit China soon. (his "Q&A section is humorous too).
If I were his investors, I'd want my half million bucks back too, as it was obviously not spent on research for the film.

They really should've stopped with the second-to-last episode, it was such a great testimony to Roddenberry's original vision for humanity. But Berman and Braga had to jump in, in their usual ham-fisted way, shouting "Me too! Me too!"

Take a look at the selection of videos. The second one in the second row is a link to that mockumentary that had Kissinger, Haig, Rumsfeld etc. playing along with the Nixon/Kubrick conspiracy.

A moment of unintentional humour in an otherwise dreary, boring site.

So why was an astronaut Jeffry Hoffman taking part in a HB film?

It's not an "HB film". You'll need to click on the Youtube link just below the video area and watch the rest of it. As it continues, the absurdities get more outrageous. The makers of the film use the Apollo hoax topic as an instrument for their real message - the power of media manipulation, (or the gullibility of the masses, take your pick).

ETA: Oh, and if I recall correctly, most of the participants don't ever actually refer to the Apollo hoax topic. They could be discussing something else. But I could be wrong on that.

William Karel's Dark Side of the Moon is as far from a hoax-believer film as you can get. I classify it under anti-hoax films. Yes, it appears to advocate a hoax. But if you watch carefully, and watch all the way to the end, Karel figuratively steps out from behind the curtain and yells, "Fooled you!"

Karel doesn't care so much about Apollo. His point, as has been said, is how seamlessly manipulative the visual media can be. Put something on TV and the masses will believe it, no matter how absurd it seems to be. His point is only valid if you accept as a premise that the Apollo missions were authentic beyond any reasonable question. William Karel is by no means a believer in the Apollo hoax theory.

The sad irony is how many conspiracy theorists quote Dark Side of the Moon smugly as a tell-all expose. Every person who waves that film as incontrovertible evidence is a person who has fallen headlong into Karel's immaculately laid trap. And Bart Sibrel is an excellent example of how effectively one can lie, swindle, and cheat by manipulating, editing, framing, juxtaposing, and rearranging visual elements. Sibrel is the poster child for everything Karel was trying
