Always been kind of worried about the whole 2012 thing and have been reading alot of things claiming that it is actually in 2007 that the Grand Conjunction is happening.

It's going to happen on 23rd December supposedly.

Check out this thread, and wherever you see 2012, think 2007. It's pretty much the same math.

The short answer is that the moon alters its pull on us, every month. And the change in that pull is more than ten times the strength of every other planet put together.

The doomsmiths cry about "grand conjunctions" every two or three years. And they'll keep moving the goalposts every time reality utterly ignores them.

It's all rubbish. Nothing out of the ordinary will happen, any more than it did last time some great cosmic conjunction was announced, or the time before that, or the time before that. Anyone recall the great harmonic concordance of 2003, in which they had to include a piddling little lump of ice called Chiron just to make the sixth point of a hexagon?

We have Grand Conjunctions every decade (last one was in 2002.... did the world explode then???)

People don't understand just how TINY we are in the grand scheme of things... the mass of all the planets lining up on one side of the Solar System is NOTHING. The gravitational pull of you brushing close to a wall is much much larger but you don't go flinging off into space every time you come close to something....

Wow, a GLP scare. That's...uh, not really unusual at all. I'd say that those GLP folks just can't hold it until 2012 so they looked for a way to bump it up and latched onto the John Walker's gadget...er, orrery.

Nevermind that GLP nonsense. Have a read up at John's site. He has a lot of good stuff there. I recommend Homeplanet. It has one of those clocks that shows where day and night are, a sky map and it has coocoo clock built in. He has tons of other stuff there too.

The best way to put your mind at ease, dear OP'er, is to not blindly buy into these claims, or any other claims. Think through everything for yourself.

Give me some time and I can make a pretty convincing argument that the cottage cheese industry is a front for some secret world-government, and that they are on the verge of hatching their plan to "cleanse the earth of the unworthy". At least, it would be pretty convincing solong as you don't look into the claims any further, or question any of my rationalization and motives.

Be skeptic, think for yourself, and always remember that just becase someone calls something a fact, that doesn't mean it is one.

In it another poster admitted to panic over 2012. However once the facts were made clear about this particular slice of baloney, he came to realize there was no reason to panic, nor even any reason at all to be concerned.

The only folks who need to be worried about 2012 are those who are trying to make money off of it, and who fear that when the facts of the matter become widely known, their cash cow will wither.
