Bingo.

And Yeah, and Duh.

We've had film available for decades that can survive not only the Van Allen radiation, but close exposure to the Sun, as well.

This argument is a dead issue. It was disprooved long ago, and literally hundreds of thousandsof photographs exist that totally undermine the argument that photographs can't pass through the Van Allen belts.

Whoever argues along this line is pipe-dreaming, and inciting the fears of those who're not as well informed as we are.

In my mind, that's approaching on a criminal level of activity.

Perception isn't reality. It's merely an abstraction thereof, and quite often not a very good one at that.

The SAS doesn't have agents - SAS members are soldiers. Very good soldiers indeed. The ones I've known tend not to talk about their work.

Edited afterthought - if you're talking about the Special Air Service of the UK, that is.

I assumed he was talking about Scandinavian Airlines Systems.

I'm surprised the Apollo astronauts made it through the Van Halen belts without earplugs. That might explain why this bit of dialog at the beginning of the film where Nixon talks to the quarantined Apollo 11 crew was suppressed:
Quote:
Nixon: I just want to congratulate you three on a splendid achievement that I will take credit for.
Armstrong: What was that, Mr. President? Please speak louder.
Collins: Yeah, louder!
Aldrin: If I read his lips correctly, when I get out of here I'm gonna punch him!
