I'd be interested to know what they meant by "Partly convinced"... do they now only believe certian aspects of the mission, or do they just feel less sure of a hoax?

Funny how it only takes rumor, a youTube video or so to convince them it's a hoax, but it's like pulling teeth to get them to even acknowledge the massive evidence to the contrary may have even the slightest bit of credibility.
Society has become very "shallow" indeed...appearance over substance. |

Hey look at all the people who don't believe the Holocaust took place - and the Nazi's took FILMS of the camps, the process and the disposals.
I shake my head everytime I see just how little history is actually taught to my son - they zip through the years so fast that broad swaths of history (and their lessons) are bypassed.... and if they are never exposed to it, it never happened as far as the kids are concerned. |

Same here, as I was walking away I thought I heard the same voice talking about the cameras used to film Armstrong on the surface as he stepped down. I guessing that he was one of those people who thought that 'someone else' was on the surface 'before' Armstrong to use the camera.

He may not have been talking about the hoax theory. I mean, he probably was, but as somebody who's had a lot of headaches over things heard out of context, I think I should just put the possibility out there.
Maybe he was fully saying "Well that partly convinced me, but I still think computers were the greatest acomplishment of the 20th century."

Or, "Well that partly convinced me that the money was well spent, although I still think there were more important things here on Earth it could have been spent on..."
But I can't help thinking that Graham's interpretation was probably correct. |

There are some HBers who think that Apollos 11 and 12 were faked, that Apollo 13 was the first real attempt (which failed, of course), and Apollo 14 was the real first landing.

Well, it could have even been, "I didn't think I'd like nacho cheese on my popcorn, but after that movie Im partly convinced"
The joys of overhearing snippits of other peoples inane conversations. "If it wasn't for my horse, I would have never spent those two years in college". Wonder if anyone else gets that reference.

Fifty obscure-refference ponits to Donnie! (I've only seen that one stand-up special of his, and that was my favorite part. I mean, who can't relate to that?)

Hi, Scaramouche. Welcome to the board. You were right, the subject itself is taboo here but can still be referenced in a somewhat oblique manner, such as the post you mentioned.
No it's only space hoaxes these days. zzz

I'm in the library now, and I'm going to rent the movie mentioned in the OP.

And I saw the post here before the one in the other thread or I wouldn't have bothered welcoming him/her/droid, since it was obvious he/she/it wasn't really interested in this place, only causing problems.

It's not a bad thing if you don't believe everything you're told; not believeing anything you're told is overkill.
