ROTFLMAO! That has to be one of the funniest things I've read in a quite a while.

Humour is best when embedded in truth.

Thanks, Jay. It seems there's still hope for humanity after all!

where are you Jay? what are you and sts up to? hehehe

I guess the handle "JayUtah" on the former's posts, and the "Location: Maryland" on the latter's, were a bit too abstruse.

i have lost respect for the man. The fact that he resorts to insult shows you his opinions are no longer valid. He presumes to know more than the rest of us and is deluded by his own ego, just as Carl Sagan was.

The fact that he resorts to insult shows you his opinions are no longer valid.

That he expresses his opinion this particular way at this particular time, cherry-picked by those who disagree with him, does not mean he has "resorted" to insults. Straw-man argument.

He presumes to know more than the rest of us and is deluded by his own ego, just as Carl Sagan was.

I've met and worked with Prof. Hawking, and he certainly does know more than I. Therefore he is entitled to enjoy what comes from that.

Much of the time, he does know more than most of us. At least on the threads to which he replies.

Or at least he expresses himself better.

I see no reason to feel humbled by that. I'm quite competent and secure in my own field of expertise.

As am I, which was the reason Prof. Hawking engaged my services. My point is that people who are demonstrably good at what they do deserve to represent themselves honestly as good at what they do. It's not "ego" to do so.

I believe metathor was addressing the behavior of Professor Hawking. And I suspect you think metathor was addressing the behavior of a BAUT member.

So does that make my response on-topic or off-topic? I'm so confused...

Binary Man is correct. I did think Metathor was addressing the behavior of a BAUT member, and not Hawking.

Too many pronouns in some of these posts.

Forget what I said.

Ah, the joy of ambiguous antecedents!
