Default HBs fight back

I have to go out, but I found this lot on YouTube, looking for Jay's programme to pass on to a HB on another forum

C-rock revisited Part 1 Part 2

Have not seen this one through, but our own JayUtah is being branded as a liar

Lets have your thoughts here

And if possible a link to Jay's TV show?

No offense intended, Mr Sticks, but Youtube is ruining online discussion for me.

There are people I never read anymore, and places I never visit anymore because there is nothing but Youtubes.

It's Jarrah White, who has had a personal vendetta against me for a number of years. He has made quite a number of completely unfounded claims. YouTube seems to be the only forum that hasn't banned him; his style is abusive and foul-mouthed. Also, there is the persistent belief at YouTube that I and Svector are the same person, leading many people to make accusations against me for things Svector may have done.

Obviously I have no intention of participating at YouTube on this point until it rises above noise. It seems to be just a few hecklers hurling invective and then running for cover.

I agree with you.
But YouTube is also free easy publicity.
And HB's use it to to spread their nonsense like moldy jam on open minded bread...

What the heck did I just say?

Just a side note: I enjoy how often I see "Your own JayUtah" on these forums. I hadn't known that my BAUT membership came with part-ownership of Jay. The real question is, can I use this apparent ownership to have Jay do my job for me, so I can spend these increasingly nice spring days out fishing?

Personally, the embedded YouTube usage across the web is annoying. I understand it, but it is still very annoying to me for 2 reasons.
1. It appears lazy. If someone has a point to make, make it. Don't just slap a YouTube video there.

2. YouTube is blocked by the firewall at work. I admit I browse a lot at work, but usually when waiting for processes to finish or during breaks. It sucks that I am increasingly unable to contribute to discussions because I can't see what the heck everyone is talking about.

I second both points. And for me, a 2B is that I have a dial-up connection at home, and am not going to waste my time downloading some HBer's rant.

I also suspect that it is a symptom of some deterioration of our culture, that 2kb of well thought out writing is considered less convincing to the masses than 200MB of video nonsense.

Well I made a couple of YouTube videos for our side

Parallel Shadows where I show an example I took locally of non parallel shadows

No stars in the sky where I do a quick experiment to demonstrate issues about exposure with a digital camera, a plant and a window

Getting back to another question, did Jay's programme ever make it to YouTube or Google Video?

The problem is that, whether you like YouTube or not, the HBs will be able to appeal to a great audience over there, convincing many more people than they would on an internet forum. That's kinda bad.

Great point, I hadn't really thought about it that way before. I'm currently in the middle of arguing with an HBer on another board and it seems that, to him, if it isn't on youtube it doesn't exist. At first I thought it was just a matter of lazy unwillingness to do research beyond youtube, but your statement made me realize that, to some, it's really about who has the best video editing skills, not the best argument. I suspect they don't even care if they're actually right or not. To them the goal is to make you look bad on youtube so they can rack up views for their videos.

This is the forum I have been arguing on. Let me know how I am doing. Better still, register there and join the "debate"

Is Jarrah white the guy with long curly hair and the Australian accent? If so, I can give one credit to him and one alone, he is a not to shabby video editor. His Saturn/Bond intro IS rather cool. However, that has no bearing on the truth, which so far has been nada. Guess beauty isn't truth after all.

You might want to point out to Sunny_01 and Tom_ that they did "send more (and more) people", there wasn't just one landing.

I agree, this only reveals the utter depths of their ignorance. This almost requires negative amount of research to get wrong. The concept is boggling.

One of the accusations in the videos was that JayUtah and Phil relied on a socalled expert to deal with the C-rock, but that this expert is also a follower of Hoagland, which is swept under the carpet IIRC.

I suspect that if I could get Jay to do my job for a few days, my salary would increase.

It could be worth the investment.

Yeah, well, if you're going to tell the unpleasant truth about someone, you have to expect some fallout.
