People on this board have suggested before that the Apollo astronauts don't sue people like Sibrel because they know he's desperate for attention and they don't want to give it to him.

I'd like to say I would have ignored him, but I've been verbally abused in the past and there is only so much you can ignore, everyone has a breaking point.

Just about a third of the way through, the book ...

Your confidence, it seems, is well founded. Enjoying the book immensely. Sort of like The Right Stuff without Tom Wolfe as an intermediary. (And I liked that book, but this is much more personal.) Great stuff.

And I can understand now that this is the guy who, when ambushed by Sibrel at the supermarket, turned right around, walked calmly back to his car, and drove off.

Loaf of bread, pound of butter, jug of milk - $8.00
Dodge the wacko, put a noseprint on the camera lens - Free
Hop in the car, leaving Sibrel standing in the lot looking foolish - Priceless

I'm just so annoyed that this little fleeb made a brief career of jumping out from behind the bushes and annoying these guys.

I'm really impressed, though, that their reactions say a great deal about their character and personalities. I know BS suggests their behavior is wild and irrational, but I see exactly the opposite - they're pretty constrained given the circumstances and level of annoyance, they're all different, and they're all quite calm and cool under the circumstances.

Al Bean is still the funniest, though ... 'There, there ... that's okay ... believe whatever you like ... just pack up and get the #$@* out'
