I think you were right before when you guessed that it might just be a group of teenaged kids. That would explain the immature behavior, several psuedonyms, horrible writing skills, free e-mail addresses, etc.

(Though I realize that Sibrel, a grown man, hasn't acted much more maturely than "Charles Hawkins".)

It also makes it somewhat more disturbing , especially when you realise all the effort that has gone into what could be nothing more than a prank.

Cpt'n, I found several web sites that had the text about the Blue Stone of Galveston, its quite apt to moon hoax discussions. Who is the author?

So what you're telling me is that something you haven't seen is slightly wider than something else you haven't seen.

This fiasco being the work of bored teenagers does seem to ring a bit truer than it did earlier.

Cpt'n, I found several web sites that had the text about the Blue Stone of Galveston...

He's referring to a conversation in Rowan Atkinson's Black Adder series in which Percy and Edmund are discussing the blueness of someone's eyes and comparing them to the Blue Stone of Galveston. It turns out that Percy has actually seen neither, so Blackadder sums it up saying, "So you're telling me that something you haven't seen in slightly bluer than something else you haven't seen."

And yes, it doesn't relate to conspiracism in that much of what is propounded as fact in a conspiracy theory is merely hearsay. I had someone tell me the other day that Mormons don't believe in the moon landings, which would come as quite a surprise to the hundreds of thousands of Mormons amongst which I live. And who, I might ask, have a ripping good moon rock in their planetarium.

The Charles T. Hawkins book has come up again on The Education Forum. Now it's being quoted by our good friend Duane. Duane found a thesis written by a Charles T. Hawkins (A study of five galatic radio sources at 5 GHz) - but this was submitted in 1968. I understand our Mr Hawkins claims to have been born in 1962, according to his book.

He might be a whizkid, but did he put in a thesis for a Master of Science (IIRC) at the age of 6?

So what do we actually know about our Mr Charles T. Hawkins?

Has anyone actually confirmed the existance of him? What are his qualifications?

I've read over some of the old threads, and had a look at the Clavius write-up, but interested in doing further research on the whole matter.

Similar discussion is going on here on Unexplained Mysteries.

Duane, aka 'straydog' claims the man is one of the world's greatest scientists!

Well he would be if he published a paper on galatic radio sources at the age of 6.

Depends on the quality of the paper and where it was published.

Why, it passed by 2 years ago.

Duane uses cutting logic, doesn't he? I'm waiting for his next show of skill:

E.G. I'm right about the Moon landings being faked (and the existance of the NWO controlling us, etc). Because I am right, any evidence to the contrary must be wrong or disinformation, so can be excluded. That means there is no evidence to the contrary. Since there is no evidence to the contrary, that proves I'm right!

That seems to be common among CTers.

Don't worry about it, I'm sure it's happened to a lot of folks here. I know I've done it :-p

One just wants to ask this person's mind, "circle much?".

To be honest, trying to have a logical/reasonable discussion with people like this is kind of like nailing jello to a tree, everything just slips out and you have to continually nail!

I find it interesting that Straydog just won't accept Jay's intelligent, well-thought-out, provable, and ulitmately beleivable arguements proving the moon landings were indeed a fact, yet will fall for any outlandish and unproven garbage denying the obvious facts.
