The only problem with the Onion is that it often makes more sense than the real news.

That's because fiction has to make sense to be believable.

Yes, I liked the bit about the part-time librarian trumping all the engineers that worked on Apollo. Ralph Coleman says it was impossible, so it was imposible!

I half wonder if the author of the Onion article had lurked here or at ApolloHoax. Of course, that isn't actually necessary - the style and claims are common enough - but it just felt so much like the stuff I see here.

Anybody else notice that the conspiracist's name is Ralph (Ralph Rene, anyone?) and that he's a librarian's assistant (like Bill Kaysing)?

The Onion must have done their research on this one.

I caught the Rene reference, with "self-taught engineer" becoming "quite the engineering buff." The Kaysing connection is more tenuous, but you may be onto something. Still trying to figure out if "Coleman" is a play on anything.
